Being played at OT, kick off soon at 7.
Team is: Gollini, Grimshaw, Love, Ioannou, Rowley, Pearson, Weir, Barmby, Daehli, Januzaj, Wilson
Very strong team, seems that Pereira isn't fit which is a shame but there's no doubt there's still a lot of talent in that line up and hopefully they can produce on the OT pitch and have another good run in the cup this year.

First big chance goes to Burnley with a ball in behind the United defense from out wide but Gollini did well to come out and smother the striker quickly.

0-1 Burnley, Love gave away a needless freekick in the corner, they scored from the ball into the box.

1-1 Weir on the stroke of HT, Januzaj with a little back heel into him and he skipped past the defender and then slotted it past the keeper, lovely goal.
HT 1-1.
Tentative first half from United, we kept the ball well but struggled to test their keeper, Barmby and Pearson probably had our two best chances, excluding the goal, with far post headers that they didn't connect with properly.
Burnley look very organised and disciplined with a bit of a threat on the break but it's gonna be hard for them the longer the game goes on I suspect.
Barmby and Januzaj have looked the most likely to create something for us, with Pearson having a tidy game knitting everything together in the middle, hopefully we can add a bit more purpose to our play in the second half and win this one.

2-1 Ioannou, tucked it away after a couple of failed clearances by Burnley from a corner, hopefully we can kick on now as they commit a few more men forward.

2-2 :/
Burnley with a nice through ball and the striker hits it against the on rushing Gollini but it looped up and Love failed to clear it under the bar and it bundled in, shame.

3-2 Love, smashed in low and hard from the edge of the box after a corner, glad for him as he might feel he could have done better with both their goals.

3-3 underhit backpass that the striker closed down, got a bit lucky with the bounce off the keeper but then finished well.

3-3 FT, goes to extra time.
We really should have won that in 90, we gifted them their three goals with sloppy defending but they took their chances well. Let's see who can cope with extra time better as there were already a couple of players suffering from cramp.

3-4 hattrick for the Burnley striker Gilchrist, United fan apparently, 8 mins left in extra time.

Well that's a bit disappointing. Just a bit We really paid for some poor defensive lapses tonight, Burnley, to their credit, worked extremely hard and took their chances when they fell to them but we should really have put them away considering the talent in that team, really thought we'd have a shot at winning the whole thing this year as well, gutted. edit: on a plus note I thought Pearson was very impressive tonight, he was the fulcrum that the rest of the team worked off of and I think he used the extra space of the pitch better than anyone else in terms of spreading the play and taking up intelligent positions, such a shame we won't get to see more of this team on pitches like OT.
