We are being very heavily linked with Walcott. What are your opinions of him as a player and do you think he could improve his game by playing for us?
I am one of his biggest critics. I just don't think he does it often enough to be considered a brilliant player. However he has all the raw bits needed to be a top player and I just wonder if he was playing in our team could he raise his game another 20% and become this top player. I think for 7 million we should definitely take him. Resale value alone would probably be 15 million. I don't think we can lose anything by signing him.

I think we could definitely improve him. The problem would be where would he play? He says he doesn't want to play wide and we have no room for him in the centre.....
....but for £7 million he would be a bargain IMO....

NO NO and NO
Over rated 1 skill pony. If hes paid more money hell stay at Arsenal so theres his motivation. I hope to god we never waste money on him. Never rated him other than for his speed, that wont change whether he signs for us or not.

A good player to have in the squad but rather inconsistent and won't sign for anyone who won't play him through the middle up front, where we already have an embarrassment of riches.

i've long suspected Ferguson would take Walcott if given the chance. He'd defo fit in with the style of the team. now there's the potential to link with van Perse.
the competition between him and Valencia would be fierce. if Ferguson could manage this and get the best out of both then i'd be pretty happy to get him.
Valencia is such an important outlet, look at the % of counter attacks that utilised him on the right against city. it was a very high percentage compared to attacks down the left with young. point being we are very reliant on Tony and when he's missing we don't really have a similar alternative. Bit of cover and competition might be a healthy thing for all parties. maybe walcott could do the odd shift on the left too, i don't know.
only slight concern is how much football Welbeck is getting at the minute. it's a struggle as it is to get him on the pitch

Walcott is one of the worst when it comes to assists. Stay the fuck away from Man United is what I'll tell Walcott. If we are seriously considering swapping Nani for Walcott then we are demented.

It will never be a swap deal. Nani will be sold to the continent for 15-20 mill. If we got Walcott for 7 mill then that's ok in my book. Iam not a fan but Fergie has this way of turning players like wallcot into world beaters. Probably wont happen anyway.

I'd do it, his pace can be such a huge asset to have plus he had a great understanding with RvP towards the end of his Arsenal days. People criticise his final ball a lot but it's improved considerably and he's actually turned into a very good finisher. For £7m it's a no brainer really.

on the face of it, id say NO! (his lack of footballing brain being the main thing against him, especially because he may be seen to replace Nani who equally has a questionable footballing brain)
however, this has a 'typical SAF improvement job', written all over it. and i do think SAF can improve him. but would he be willing to join knowing the chances of playing in the middle, his stated desire, would be very limited?

I'd love to see him playing at OT for the right price, which is 5-8 million. any more and I'd rather buy Lewandowski. however, seeing him and RVP paired could be a real treat. he'd add depth to our wide spot and serve as competition to Young. plus, it's always a treat to hear my gooner friends moan and complain how their talent keeps leaving...only to succeed elsewhere. this would be icing on the RVP cake.
