i reckon he'd get all giddy if he had the chance to join United Well he didn't the first time. . . true that. for whatever reason. wouldn't surprise me if we weren't that strongly interested. don't get me wrong. i'm not calling for us to sign him, certainly not to replace anyone. but at the same time he'd be an asset if we did get him in.

Walcott is a sprinter who happens to run with the ball somewhere in the vicinity of his feet.
I'm not a fan!

i am not totally sold on him. I still think he's a bit of Money hungry cunt. Give him more and he'd stay at Arsenal. Also if he was to join us knowing his chances down the middle/up top would be limited then this is sure as hell a stunt he is pulling.
While i don't think a swap will happen with cash, Cup strapped Club , I'd be genuinely surprised if he didn't ( Fergie didn't) get an extra 20-30% from him if we happened to sign him.
On pace and Talent i'd actually go for ox b4 Theo , but that'd take another 2 years to happen

Never a United player and certainly wouldn't get a game ahead of Tony.

Don't mind him, great weapon late in games as an outlet, rarely seen a player as quick as him.
Think people are a bit quick to write him off as a United player, not our standard? He's better than other wingers we've had/have, quick example being Poborsky, Bebe and Obertan. Granted these guys weren't signed for big money, or would have been on a lot of money, but if he costs around 12 million I wouldn't call that big money either.
And I'd say he's done as much for Arsenal as Young had at Villa and Valencia had at Wigan, and we were prepared to pay more to sign them.
Young scored 38 goals in 190 games for Villa, Valencia 7 in 89 for Wigan, Walcott 52 in 237 for Arsenal.
I know they are wingers so there's more important aspects to their game than scoring goals, but at just 23 and maybe coming in on the cheap, I wouldn't be against Walcott at all.

He played well for Arsenal up front last night. Looked dangerous and gave an option over the top although Reading were rather porous. I doubt he would want to come here to play wide right again.

I was going to say that before, I think he's future is more as a striker than an average winger. We really don't need him, even for a cut price.

He wouldn't get a game playing wide right, or upfront for that matter unless he would be happy as 5th choice striker limited to 15 minute cameo's here and there. I don't see anything he would offer that we don't already possess.

Now when Tony V is a bit off it, we could give Walcott games and let Valencia have a rest to get his head showered.

I would be surprised to see Nani wearing red again. The Petrucci bust up looks to have been the final nail.Remember the last time we sold a first team player because of an argument with a promising youth, the youngster went on to do alright(RVN & Ronaldo)!

Nani > Valencia > Walcott [/quote] 100%. Seriously , are we still debating this? If we are looking for an inconsistent winger who wants more than 100k we're better off with Nani. Because Nani is infinitely more skilled than Walcott and has the stats to back it up. There is no discussion. I'd rather we keep Nani than bring in Walcott. That would be an epic facepalm.

I prefer Valencia to Nani, but both are better than what Walcott is now. In terms of striking options, I'd also prefer Rooney, van Persie, Chicharito ahead of him - Welbeck too. What Walcott possesses is devilish speed, and that's about it. He wouldn't really add much to our offensive dimensions.
Walcott reminds me of Agbonlahor, Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Chicharito is pretty rapid. I wonder who would win a race between him and Walcott?
