United will be entering a team in this season's Blue Stars Youth Cup which is held in Switzerland every year by FC Blue Stars. The Zurich based club were one of the first to have a separate youth section. This youth section expanded to include a tournament involving the best youth teams in the world.

barcelona are the current holders, but United have won the tournament 18 times - more than any other team. The next highest winners are Grasshopper Zurich who won the inaugural tournament in 1939 and have won it 6 times in total.

United's most recent triumph came with back-to-back wins in 2004 & 2005. They even won it 4 years in a row between 1959 & 1962 along with more back-to-back wins in 65 & 66, 68 & 69, 75 & 76, 78 & 79 and 81 & 82. The other wins were 1954 (their first win) and 1957.

37 different teams have won the tournament in its history.

The competition is for players born in 1993 or later although only a maximum of five in the squad can be born after 1995.

Could take a strong squad over for this - Blackett, Van Velzen, Barmby, Daehli, Januzaj, Ioannu & Wilson are all born in 94/95. Pereira would have to be one of the five "after 95" players along with maybe Goss and the other Pereira.

Might look to go over to it - couple days in Switzerland could be fun

Group B consists of Botafago, Dortmund, WYNRS N.Z., FC Basel & Grasshopper Club.
