replace Sandro? where's he off too? Sure he's out for the rest of the season. @ Paul - Holtby is a winger, left and right sides, but he can play through the middle as well. Don't know how he is supposed to be Sandro's replacement though, they're totally different players. Unless Dembele is dropping back with Parker.

Well he's not a direct replacement but the general talk was that with Sandro out that was why they decided to cough up cash to take him now rather than sign him for free in the summer.

He has played through the centre alot for Schalke.
They don't need another defensive midfielder anyway - Dembele and Parker should be enough. They need better attacking options - hence Holtby to an extent. Doesn't look like they are signing a striker.

Schalke look pretty good this season, if you ignore the fact Bayern have been whooping Die Bundesliga.

Bundesliga is weird this season. Dortmund only lost Kagawa really and they are miles behind. Bayern didn't really bring anyone in in the summer did they?

Bayern Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao for a fee of 40m; Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic from Wolfsburg for a fee of 13m; Midfielder Mitchell Weiser from Koln for a fee of 0.8m; Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro on a free transfer from Werder Bremen; Brazilian defender Dante from Borussia Monchengladbach for a fee of 4.7m; Goalkeeper Tom Starke on a free transfer from Hoffenheim; Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri from Basel for a fee of 11.8m. € 70.3m

Javi Martinez (MF), Mandzukic (CF), Shaquiri (W), Dante (CB). They did actually strengthen quite a bit, now that I tot it all up. Dortmund did get Reus to replace Kagawa, and Magic Mario is fit again this season. Also, Julian Schieber up front to spell Lewa when needed too. They've suffered for no particular reason, just that the team hasn't been functioning the same way. They aren't seeing teams off like they did last season, for example.

Oh yeah, Pizarro for free! I also knew about Wesier but didn't bother mentioning him as he cost next to nothing and was loaned to Kaiserslauten.

Jeez, didnt think they bought that many players.
Odd how they have lost that spark so quickly. Munich are walking it though

If there was a god, no transfer window would be completed without 'Arry' having a mike shoved up his arse and one in his mouth, the bent cunt. Fixed for you Ha, cheers Ash!

Good ol Red Issue:
In a short-sighted attempt to bring in a couple of defenders, Wenger has decided to contact Lens.
Fabrice Muamba to revive his career with Hearts.
