I have been in two minds as to whether i should start a thread for this, but i figured i ought to out of respect.
February 6th will forever remain a date of reverence and respect for the Manchester United Family due to the Munich Air disaster. However today also holds significance for another reason for many around the world.
Today marks the Birthday of the Reggae 'Legend' Robert Nesta 'Bob' Marley. a man, who like our beloved Reds and the Busby Babes, has brought so much joy and happiness to millions of lives around the world through expressing himself through his own from of art. (as i firmly believe that not only is Football a sport, but when exhibited at the highest level, as done by generations of Manchester United players, it is the highest form of art also)
Today, as we remember our Babes, please also take a moment to remember Bob. Smile at the knowledge that all of these great men provided joy to many during their pomp. and through their actions, we will NEVER FORGET!

Marley has my respect. Used to listen to Legend in the car with my mum. She is a huge fan.

It's actually really relevant, he was told by one doctor he'd developed cancer n his toe and he'd need to amputate a section of his foot in order to be fully cured. He then got a second opinion as he was in love with football and couldn't bare not being able to play. Needless to say the second opinion told him he needn't worry and in the end it claimed his life.
At least, my Dad told me that's the long and short of it.
Went through a few Marley phases in my life, R.I.P big guy.

^^ you are spot on jay. It was partly religious but also partly for his love of the game that he chose the 'naturalistic' path rather than the amputation.
