It’s fine. Mark Hughes is still a free agent.

It has been quiet in this thread for a good while. Shit, we’ve been winning a lot lately, 5 points from the top with a game in hand and reached a cup SF. Shambles. Disgraceful that we let Poch, who has never won a trophy, sign for Paris Emirates while we are at it.

I still think we're heading the right way and whoever is going to come next will be in a good place to succeed here. Not too fussed about Pochettino tbf.

There will be losses along the way but reading the overreactions was getting tiring.

I am liking the recruitment of young players the last few years. The under performing first team players should always know there is a credible threat of a young player coming up and taking their place.

Well, at least this means that next time we are linked with Pochettino no one could say he never won anything, because if that’ll be the case, we really shouldn’t go for him. PSG for 2 years is ideal for a manager to get some experience winning trophies.

Let’s see how the next 6 months play out and compare Ole and Poch next summer. If Ole has proved himself a superior manager I’ll be delighted to be proven wrong as it means he’s either won a significant cup or had a serious league challenge. Time will tell.

Time will tell. if we finish 3rd/4th and get to a couple of semi finals or a final without winning something then we have more or less stood still but ole won’t be sacked because that will suffice the board. It’s just down to the club’s ambitions at the end of the day.

Everything in life is about stages and progress. If you are renting and have the opportunity to buy, the majority take the opportunity. If you have kids and live in a flat and have the opportunity to buy a house, the majority take that opportunity.
If you have a fiesta (nothing wrong with them) and the opportunity to upgrade your car comes along, the majority will take the opportunity.
Poch is an upgrade on Ole IMO, whether he has won anything or not doesn’t even really factor for me, with the talent we have I just believe he is the better coach to develop them to the next level.
I want ole to succeed solely because he manages our club, the legend status is neither here nor there. I just want success, style and consistency

We made the mistake of sticking with someone who MAYBE could pull it off with LVG when Klopp was available. I don’t think it’s quite the same this time, as Ole has been better in my opinion than Van Gaal, and Poch isn’t at Klopp’s level yet, but it is a bit similar.
At least it’s a foreign club that is renowned for replacing managers frequently, so there’ll be no weird loyalty to a shitty club like Liverpool or City, and he’ll be available within reasonable time if we are still keen on him.

I can’t see poch getting sacked by PSG, he will leave when he wants. Mbappe will leave the hay will stop playing fantasy football however talk is they will get Messi.
I can see Poch making them serious on the pitch.
I am not saying he is a miracle worker but the development of that Spurs team was very impressive, you can never underestimate the ability of a coach to make some average players look like world beaters. Fergie did that year in year out.
Anyway for the sake of the club and those associated with the club you can only hope we win some trophies and there is only so much the likes of Bruno will take.

PSG have a world class squad , they win domestic trophies for fun, CL finalists last year and backed by an oil state, its not as if Poch have to build them from scratch and perform miracles. What i expect from Poch , Ole is doing right now - which is to build a proper squad ,develop young players and getting them to play attacking football , i just dont see Poch to be so much better that we have to hit reset and start again , especially when there are signs things are finally beginning to fall in place.

Mixed feelings on Ole today. On the one hand, he can't be blamed for Rashford (and others) missing chances that absolutely should have been buried. And when he did make his subs, they were fairly effective.
On the other hand, Cavani should have come on much sooner (half time?), and he simply cannot coach a defence. Maguire is not worth £80m but he was solid at Leicester and feels anything but right now. Shaw had a good game today but is often left wanting. Lindelof had one good season before a massive regression. AWB was a defensive beast before he came in and mostly continues to be but has shown a few signs of reverting to the United mean this season.
He's not the main person to blame for today, multiple players deserve more blame, but overall it's probably another sign for me that he isn't good enough.
