@duncancastles · 19m • €500m+ commited to transfer fees since Solskjær’s appointment • 2nd most expensive squad in world football by transfer fee • Highest net spend during COVID pandemic. (Bruno Fernandes signed window before.) • Zero trophies. Same old tactical errors. I’m not having that a better manager couldn’t have the team producing better football and more consistent performances either. Only nostalgia and CL football keeps him safe for now.

That improved squad gives Ole zero excuses now he has to deliver silverware this season or get sacked.

Rodgers would be my choice. 2nd after Zidane for me (though not by much). The problem is Arsenal are probably going to come to their senses soon and get him to replace Arteta. I would like to see Conte considered ahead of Rogers. Tactically sound , wont take any nonsense from the board and wins stuff.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they went for Roy Keane next to keep the fans of their backs for another 3 years.

Chelsea have shown you can pick up the pieces pretty quickly if you have a strong squad with a lot of experience. Zidane would be my first choice but if he isn’t interested Conte shouldn’t he ruled out. He’s less toxic than Jose and most of the fall out would be at board level. I think the main worry would be whether he’d butt heads with Ronaldo but Ronaldo won stuff under Jose despite them not getting along

Ole wants Lingard to stay. Having Talks with Jlingz and his dad about a new deal. I'd have preferred to see him go, but he's a decent squad player. I don't think there's any danger of Ole playing him over Greenwood, Marcus, or Sancho, so I don't think it's the end of the world if he stays. I'd like to see him not play through balls for the other team, though.

If you want immediate results, squad being pushed year on year and trophies you probably go get Conte. You want a name but with a wonderful CV then zizou. With him it can go either way. You want nice football, style of play, steady development and maybe trophies then Rodgers.
Rodgers of all of them we know would stay for life, zidane would leave at some point and Conte will implode if he didn’t given stacks year on year

The thought of Rodgers as manager does not sit right with me.

I said Zidane last year before he went back to Madrid. I haven't changed my position on that. Conte isn't it for me, I don't want another Mourinho waiting to explode.

I like how Rodgers' teams play. But he still has that whiff of scouse on him that I can't get past him.
And before anyone pulls up history, Brendan isn't fit to lick Sir Matt's boots.
