Here’s where I am at.
It’s absolutely time to replace Ole as manager. He is as average a manager as one can be, and he has been found out. Honestly, the warning signs have been around since he was appointed our full time manager.
Almost 3 years into his reign as our manager and still there is no style, no method, you simply never know which United you are going to get and too often wins are a result of individual brilliance or Bruno not missing a penalty.
Ole has built the strongest United team since 2010, which is actually a phenomenal achievement that he should be proud of. It also makes me think he might be a great fit for a Director of Football position.
There are probably 3 standout candidates, all of whom on paper should make this team a force to be reckoned with. Time to make the call.

Luckily for OGS there is no way on earth Woodward will sack him now & there is also no way Arnold will want to come in & fire him so soon. However bad it gets will be stuck with pathetic useless clown for the entire season.

Even on the likes of red cafe nobody’s blaming the glazers at this time because we have a squad to be challenging. These results are now all on ole and he has no hiding place.

Time to make the call. You make an excellent point. Signing the likes of Ronaldo, Varane, Fernandes, Sancho, etc. is no mean feat, especially considering the state we were in before Ole joined. If a DoF had achieved that we'd be singing their praises. And it's the DoF position in which all the talk of club DNA, 'the United way', etc. that Ole's all about would actually make sense as something to focus on. When it comes to the manager, there's a very specific set of skills that he sorely lacks. Bring in a specialist, move Ole to DoF so he can maintain his club legend status and start winning the trophies this squad should be winning.

Fletcher already performs that role though. And performs it well by all accounts.

Manchester United FA Cup winner Paul McGrath believes the fans are close to turning on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He wrote for the Sunday World: "Expectation is a dangerous commodity for any manager to deal with and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might just be a victim of that sooner rather than later.
"United didn't just lose 1-0 against Aston Villa at Old Trafford yesterday, as they were beaten by a better team and that will set alarm bells ringing.
"All of us with connections to the club want Solskjaer to succeed because he has a special place in United's history given all he achieved as a player.
"That history got him the United job in December 2018 and it has ensured the fans have stayed behind him, even though he has not won anything as United manager.
"Yet what games like yesterday do is use up the credits Ole has left and sadly, I fear he is down to the last few coins now.
"United fans might not turn against him right now, but that day may not be far away because we are not seeing the progress required from this team."

Fletcher already performs that role though. And performs it well by all accounts. Yeah I thought about that as I've heard about how he played a big role in getting Varane bought into Utd. I'm not clear on how those responsibilities are split though, or who's doing the heavy lifting.

www.skysports.com/football/news/29326/12418792/neville-odd-bunch-man-utd-must-play-as-a-teamGary Neville: Man Utd don't play well enough as a team to win title, but club will stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. "I think you have to be a unit in and out of possession, and when you only deliver in moments, those moments won't go for you in certain games. You need patterns of play, you need a way of playing, and at this moment in time I still see a group of individuals playing in moments, with some patterns and combinations at times, but still a team where some are pretty new together - Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho - but they've got to come together as a team and start to define a style of play. Then you start to get results when you don't play well" his good ol pal has been in charge for 3 years.
