Hearing it's a done deal, signing after U-21s. Heard a rumour his father was discussing personal terms with us. (His father is his agent apparently).

Very interesting read however with Rooney and kagawa we don't need another no 10. Kagawa is not a winger nor is rooney

The Barca blog guy is also effectively saying we'd be barmy not to buy Thiago, if we can indeed trigger a clause in his contract, etc. He's right about re-sale value etc. Interesting.

" Either Kagawa is pushed out wide/to the bench, or Thiago is pushed back to join [Michael] Carrick in the real engine room of midfield. I wouldn't suggest the latter is a great idea, like you've said before, [Marouane] Fellaini would be the better option there." Awh Shite. But Strootman (allegedly?) would compliment nicely, wouldn't you say?

No plan that involves Kagawa being shunted anywhere is a good plan. It is detrimental to everything. It might just go on and prove that Shinji was signed just to sell shirts in Japan. I will be fucking pissed off if he isn't played in his natural. Motherfucking pissed off. Don't care who else we sign, get this kid his starting spot in his natural role. That's more than enough to begin with.

"I figure it goes without saying that he can seriously pass the ball (we're talking Xavi levels of brilliance here) and his first touch is other-worldly as well, so this is the kind of guy that you can build and run an offense around."
Ok. I was skeptical before, but if this is the case then sign him the hell up!

If we got Thiago and Strootman we'd actually have a pretty impressive midfield, at last! Those two joining Kags, Carrick and Clevers, with Jones as another possibility, and things look pretty promising.
Note:
I admit I haven't really seen anything of Strootman, so I'm basing my opinion purely on other peoples, plus the fact that he's a Dutch international with a bit of hype around him.

This would be a much better signing than Fellaini... From what I've seen he is a traditional midfielder but can play the number 10 too. (similar to Cleverley)

Between Thiago and Strootman, Thiago is the more likely at the moment. Doesn't mean we're not looking at Strootman though.

I actually think both, we've been linked with Strootman for absolutely ages, he wont cost that much and it's all gone pretty quiet since rumors began the year before last.
Would be ecstatic if we ended up with both.
