just wondering what you boys would feel about this if it ever became a goer.
bit of speculation about his future since he's often left out and there are question marks about how successful his move back to spain has been and theres that talk about returning to arse
despite the romance i can't really see him going back there, can they afford him? does he want to join a club of that level of ambition?
it's a long shot and unlikely to happen this summer but there will be some movement at barca over the next couple of years and i hope and expect we are keeping an eye on his situation because that would be some signing

ofcourse if it was a possibility. There isn't a place for fabregas in this barcelona team. He either plays as a second striker or a false nine but he's a central midfield player without doubt. Wenger started playing him much further forward and I think its affected his game. His passing was usually faultless at times but when you watch him playing for barca he gives it away an awful lot. Talented player who needs to be playing in the middle of the park. I don't agree that he wouldn't play for another club in England

yeah Barca [and spain] have had to play him slightly out of position just to be able to accommodate him. you are bang on about him being a natural center midfielder.
he'll surely be the long-term replacement for Xavi if he stays, but if Xavi is good for another couple of years a Fabregas can't see a way in then who knows.

Who would make way? We can't fit Kagawa in most games

--------Carrick - Fabregas-------- Valencia/ Nani - Kagawa - Bale -----------------RvP------------------ It could work

I don't think one up top would suit us and let's assume that Rooney stays this year, where does that leave him?

Well 442 doesn't suit Kagawa imo and I would rather we built a team around him. confusing....

My number one choice CM to have had here, but between arsenal and barca he was never going to come here. I don't think he'll leave now, he knew he'd have to wait in Xavi shadow for a while.

We need a Gundogen, a Schweinsteiger, or a Jones. Not a pretty passer.
Although, guarentee to me we play him deeper with Kags in front. . .

you likes what you likes don't you bestie! what a smashing little bubble you live in.
Fabregas is a top player, much more than a 'pretty passer'.

I didn't say he wasn't top player, but his main assets are not what we pressingly need to add to our team.

We need a top class midfielder which Fabregas is. We also need more of a goal threat from midfield which he would provide.

We don't need another player like Jones if Jones develops into the steely midfielder we need.
A technically sound and quick passing player is something I would not be against. No team wants enough of good passing players. But Fabregas is not someone I'd want in the team. After 3 years I'll bet he'll run back to mommy in Catalonia. Not only that, he seems to have lost some of what made him such a good player back at Arsenal.
If we do get Gundogan or someone like him, chances are Jones will be promoted in a CB role. But then again, nobody knows what Fergie has planned for him.
