Is it sad? Absolutely. Surprising? Absolutely not. Look what they did to De Gea. Can’t wait to find out the circumstances around Dave’s exit. Gary should be pulling out all the stops to get him on. It would be a blockbuster. United fans would go ballistic.

But being made to train with actual children with the U-16's, not the U-23's, as was suggested, not being able to get his boots and other bits of kit, that's more the WTF moment, for me.

To offer a counterpoint, Schweinsteiger did take the piss out of the club. He was injured for about a third of a season, flew all over the place watching tennis and then was fit enough to go to an international tournament and sprint about 90 yards full pelt off the ball to nab a tap in. I was extremely frustrated by this at the time. Also, I thought the bulk of this was common knowledge at the time? We knew he was in exile didn’t we? We never knew the exact circumstances around it maybe. Anyway, I’m also no fan of Jose really. I’ve admittedly not watched the full interview as yet, I gather there is some mitigation offered towards Jose. However, he doesn’t come out of that looking good does he? Just cowardly surely not doing the dirty work yourself. Poisonous, miserable little cunt. Listened to the podcast this evening. Gary raises an interesting point about how what happened to Bastien contravened employment law. And he would know, having been a union rep. I’m actually surprised that Schweinsteiger accepted it initially. If I came to work and someone said “you’re not allowed in your office”, I wouldn’t then be asking that person to go and get my personal property. It would be a case of, my shit is in there, I’m going to get it, you can’t stop me. It’s not like he’d broken the law or was in the process of being sacked and therefore escorted off site. Maybe he’s extremely laid back, maybe he was just stunned into silence by the whole thing, maybe he thought it was a rib, I don’t know. Maybe he just accepted it as he recognised why somebody might be upset at his conduct in the second half of the previous season.

Bastian would have been told by someone he was ok flying around. Then you’d have someone else saying ‘no’ he should get back, the original person who the. Authorised will try and save face by acting like they knew nothing

Authorised will try and save face by acting like they knew nothing LVG told him he was alright to complete his rehab in Germany with their medical team. He then came back bang on time for whatever the International tournament would’ve been that summer (Euro 2016?) despite having missed everything from January onwards for United. He assumes that’s rubbed the top brass up the wrong way. Once LVG went, there was nobody to protect him. Doesn’t take much to get Jose at it and he probably thought it would be a good statement to make upon arrival. Nobody bigger than the club and that.

Feels like he is a former player. Just seen a picture on Reddit of FdJ injury last night 😱😱😱 Awful. Reminds me of the David Busst one at OT.

I was showing some of the lads at work and all of them did the Christian Bale meme expression!
