I think he's a good player. We just don't need him.

Another player I have been very impressed with, but recognise he isn't our standard. Doubt it's a goer.

We do look a bit light at centre back, with only Vidic, Jones, Ferdinand, Smalling and Evans. I think we should get Jagielka, Hummels and Zouma. Y'know, just in case.

We're just too well stocked and, for United, he's maybe not quite up there. If we're seriously considering a senior CB of real class that'll be the bedrock of our team then Hummels is the only option. Would be pretty pleased if we brought in Zouma, seems like a goer in the press.

Same as most of the above.
He's a good defender, very good on his best days. But he turns 31 at the start of the season. We already have 2 very good 30 something centre halfs, Jags isn't better than either. And we have quite possibly the 3 best young centre halfs in the league as well, Jags coming in and pushing any one of them down the order? No thanks.
His chance of a big move came 2 years ago when Arsenal came in for him, think he's probably missed the boat now.

Quality defender but as people have said, age is the issue. Already got two older players in Ferdinand and Vidic and if one of them was to leave, I'd expect a top defender aged around 26 / 27 to come in, e.g. Garay.

Great player, very underrated. However he's 30 now and its not like United are short of centre-backs. Wouldn't make sense at all.

Solid centre half, and if Moyes reckons Jones is a midfielder, then could make sense. Plus he's a Sale lad, United through and through.

don't see the board authorising this deal. Moyes will not be given fergie level of power he will have to earn that, when you look at the players age the board will say no as there is no resale value

Makes no sense.
And as others have said we don't need him.

It just strikes me as lazy journalism. Link United with Everton players now that Moyes is manager, how original and creative.
