Okay, so the forum upgrade (it's a ProBoards thing, not an 'our choice' thing) has happened. It's quite, bracing, I know. I've found it easier to switch the Forum theme to "Default" for the time being. It has borders and is much, much cleaner and I'm finding easier to navigate. To Change the Theme:Profile --> Edit Profile --> Settings --> Forum Theme is the 4th option. Oh thank you for that - the forums lots more bearable now! Shame it's in blue though |

The one thing good i have noticed is that the last post now appears with the Avatar and the sig as opposed to earlier.

I've warmed to it now, its good when you quote someone you get a notification. I actually like it other than it being blue, only down side on the phone the shoutbox doesnt appear but thats not too bad.
It kinda looks cleaner aswell.

Just above the shoutbox you see 'Forum Information & Statistics' and its under 'Threads and Posts'

What exactly does the shout box do? I thought it was like a chat function, but then noticed it had posts from threads in it.
And I seem to have only two options for Forum theme. The red one with the really faint borders, or the blue one, which everyone says is better, but is still blue. Any chance we could have another one designed?

It is just a chat box as far as I can see, the choice of 2 themes is gay but considering it's new im sure something will be knocked up at some point, id have thought pro boards would allow it, just a case of changing the layout and changing the html code for it. |

Also only an idea but ages ago it was suggestdmd in the "questions/help" section that maybe a background change could modernise the forum a bit, with everything updated perhaps it would be a good idea?
Obv it's up to the admins and Mods but just an idea, I'd be happy to help if it was needed though. Anything to get rid of the awful blue.

Don't think it'll happen Paul, I don't think the people who actually edit and modify the forum layout actually post on here or read the suggestions tbh, I've yet to see any of the suggestions really take off, perhaps it's the coding etc that's just not in place.

Only Admins have the function of editing the forum layout/themes etc.
It is to do with coding, as far as I can work out so far, but there also seems to be scope to make plenty of changes relatively straight-foward. The staff are discussing it and trying to work out the best way of doing it.
We'll keep you updated, just bear with us please!

Okay, so to let everyone know it should be safe to go back to the 'Main' (our usual) theme now.
Changes:
Fixed the borders issue;
Re-added the page numbers to the bottom of threads;
The 'Newest Posted in Threads' Option is now available under "Latest" in the top most navigation bar (Home; Latest; Help etc. . .). Hooray!!!
I know that last one was a fairly big gripe for some people, myself included!
Hopefully these changes will make it easier for everyone to recognise your old forum and way better to use. We're still looking into the images and 'RoM logos', but thus far it looks like getting those things sorted shouldn't be too much of a problem. We do have saved copies of the pics, so hopefully now it should be a matter of getting siezes/resolution/format right.

Just a small gripe - certainly nothing major, but with the new Main theme the banner at the top is positioned on the right, rather than centered. So there's a big white/grey box on the left before the banner begins.
