The actual stat is he created more chances than any other player in Europe.

Ah yes.
How do they measure that one? Similar to an assist, but its the last pass made that leads to a shot on goal?

Agree that Paddy's time is up. Remember the first half against City on his debut when Sinclair destroyed him??? Who would have thought he could on to have so much success. A truly brilliant player for us in the past. I do feel though in the really big testing games he has been caught out a little. Top man , Top player all the best. I do believe Baines will give us another dimension down the left. I am not one for stats but he had the most assists of any player in the top 5 leagues in Europe last season! #Excited! I'm guessing you meant "Most assist's for a defender in the top 5 leagues"? SET I think he has the most assists/Chances created than any player. Not just defenders. I could be horrifically wrong but Im sure I read this somewhere. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2305726/Leighton-Baines-David-Silva-Luis-Suarez-create-chances-Cristiano-Ronaldo-Lionel-Messi.html

Mata had 17 assists in the league last season.
Baines had 7. Whilst he had the most assists for a defender in the PL, Lahm had 11 in the Bundesliga, and that's just off the top of my head.
Think Stew has it right when he said "Chances created" rather than "assists".
Which leads me back to my original question of "How do they measure that" ??

But it is some going for a fullback to have this sort of stat(Whatever the fuck it might measure!!!)

Last pass leading to a shot on goal, I believe.

It's a great stat alrite, but doesn't equate him being worth 15-18mill.
Bayern bagged 151 goals in all comps last season - Lahm ended up with 19 assists. Everton only scored 63 all season in all comps - Baines got 8 assists in total.
I'd love to see that "Chances Created" stat for the entire United team given that we scored 114 goals & RVP & Rooney had 15 assists, Tony V 8, Kagawa, Evra Giggs & Carrick 6, Rafael 4 & Jones, Evans & Rio 2.

Ah yes. How do they measure that one? Similar to an assist, but its the last pass made that leads to a shot on goal? always thought that if the last pass made ends up in goal then its an assist other wise if the shot was saved or opportunity wasted then its a chance created. that's what i think

I think the stat was something like 'Key passes' including accurate crosses. Pretty much saying was providing great ammo to a poor strikeforce.

Anyway, it's damn impressive. I'm sure his actual assist would have been more impressive had he been firing in crosses for RVP and Hernandez as opposed to Anichibe and a badly out of form Jelavic.

Basically it works out at 97 chances in 44 games(out of a total of 45 games in Everton's season), 8 actual assists and they bagged 62 goals.
Out of a total of 63 goals in the whole season - he missed the 2-1 defeat to Leeds.
Impressive from his side - but i dread to think what the whole picture is once you add in the rest of his teammates stats

Impressive. If we do get him it will be also a kind of a let out in case where our wingers aren't putting in the crosses+ his Dead Ball deliveries are also good. Just wonder if the 8 are from the FK's. If all of it is from them then i'd be gutted that he hasn't got one from open play.

He will need to fight RVP for FK duty first.....

Got to love mad Pat, didn't think he'd get it back, on the pitch but fair play he was much more like his old self last season (though more productive). Been a top player and what a character he is. Would be sorry to see him go. Rather keep him than sign another, Baines is great but not that young and we'll likely have to pay quite a high fee for him. Much rather see Fabio given a proper go of it. Got Buttner in reserve too. If Evra stays the three can share games with Evra taking more of a back seat.
