Not sure if anyone else has already posted it, if so feel free to remove the thread. I was just having a looking at the online papers and here comes TheSun with the title: I'm off. Evra off?
As much as i won't mind to lose Rooney i'm not sure i would be happy to see Pat go :/ I hope is just some stupid paper talks.

Depends if the rumours about Baines are true. But then it has come from The Sun. All week its been a diff story to chew on, all about us, whether its Evra, Rooney, Baines has been mentioned. Until theres more to it ill take it as boring paper talk

There was a report a while back suggesting that Evra would return back to Monaco, but that one seems to have faded away.
As Paul says, the report is in the Sun, so i'm not convinced. Paul's correct it's papers engineering stories during the summer months.

Paddy should never leave! I want him to retire here. He seems to really love the club and understands what it means to play for us.

Is probably more paper talk than reality but it looked so bad when i read the title....Pat is one of the main figure inside the dressing room, i wouldn't love to see him leave.

If Baines arrives it's the most obvious solution. I don't want Paddy to go either but Monaco will probably be the only ones to pay silly money for him at his age. If we can get about £8m for Evra I think it's a great deal. Baines is a few years younger and he'd be around £15-18m. That would only be about £8-10m investment on perhaps the best left back in the Premier League IMO. Makes sense and I can definitely see this one happening, much more that any supposed deal for either Thiago, Strootman or Lewandowski.

Totally agree with the comment in bold ! Been a big fan of paddy, but his defensive positioning has let hime down for a couple of seasons, but you cant fail to love his honest attitude to the game. Leighton Bains would fit United like a glove !!!

Im sure i once saw a Interview where Evra said he would only leave us for Monaco as this is true home?
I don't want him to leave be a sad day! but as i have said in the baines thread, baines would be purely like 4 like.. so i would believe that some truth in this.
However.. wouldnt surprise me if the Sun had a slow news day and dug up an old article and re-ran it with new dates lol

Andy Mitten says that Evra wants to go and his wife even more so. Makes sense as he's supposedly only stayed so long due to Fergie. Been a brilliant player and person to have for so long and I can't begrudge him wanting to go back to his home club for one last swan song. Sell him for £5m or so, replace with Baines for £15m and we'd then have the best LB in the league.

Agree that Paddy's time is up. Remember the first half against City on his debut when Sinclair destroyed him??? Who would have thought he could on to have so much success. A truly brilliant player for us in the past. I do feel though in the really big testing games he has been caught out a little. Top man , Top player all the best.
I do believe Baines will give us another dimension down the left. I am not one for stats but he had the most assists of any player in the top 5 leagues in Europe last season! #Excited!

I'm guessing you meant "Most assist's for a defender in the top 5 leagues"?
