Manchester United have announced the squad for the upcoming Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland.
18 teenagers form the travelling party with Belgian playmaker Andreas Pereira the most experienced player on view after featuring regularly for Paul McGuinness' Under-18s last term.
As McGuinness told ManUtd.com recently, it is a very youthful-looking squad with Demetri Mitchell the only other outfield member to have played at Under-18 level, and that was in a brief substitute appearance.
Oliver McBurnie, a 17-year-old Bradford City scholar, has been drafted in with the Bantams' blessing to cover injuries in attack. The striker will spend the duration of the competition with the Reds on work experience after Bradford nominated him for the opportunity.
United squad (number order): Joel Castro Pereira, Tyler Reid, Jordan Thompson, Axel Tuanzebe, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Scott McTominay, Joe Riley, Matthew Willock, Ruairi Croskery, Oliver McBurnie, Demetri Mitchell, Callum Nicholas, Kieran O'Hara, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford, Charlie Scott, Vashiko Dick, Oliver Rathbone.
Monday 29 July: v Co Antrim (8pm) Showgrounds, Ballymena
Tuesday 30 July: v Strikers FC South Coast (8pm) Showgrounds, Coleraine
Wednesday 31 July: v TuS Altenberge (7pm) Scroggy Road, Limavady

Games kick off at 11am unless otherwise stated.
All fixtures are subject to change. Home matches will be played at the Aon Training Complex unless otherwise stated.
Unlike last season, when the Academies were divided into three national qualifying groups from which the best-performing teams qualified for the post-Christmas Elite Group Stage, the 2013/14 Barclays U18 Premier League is split into two regional leagues: North and South.
Each league consists of 11 Category 1 Academies who will play each other home and away, and also meet each team in the opposing group once (either home or away) for a total of 31 fixtures per Academy.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, with the winner of each league deemed to be the home team, facing the winners-up of the opposing division. Each of the semi-finals shall be played at the home team's registered ground or at a neutral venue determined by the Premier League.
FA Youth Cup date before: 21 December, 25 January, 15 February, 8 March, 22 March and 5 April.

Some of our youngsters have cool names. For that reason alone i hope they make it.
Apparently Pereira has been a stand-out in the Reserves pre-season games so far.

I really want to go to the Milk Cup but all the games are played a 3 hour round trip away on work nights. It's quite irritating.

I was looking at coming up for a few days myself, but the next 3/4 days are make-or-break time for the business, so cant.
Still, MUTV should have them on so its not too bad

You can't get MUTV on SkyGo! It's just annoying that the Milk Cup is so close but not close if you know what I mean.
Anyone else think it's a funny thing for us to have a friendly against Crewe Alex by the way? Maybe they can teach us how to promptly integrate youth prospects into the first team in real-life competitive games on a regular basis while we're down there.

Haha, they are evening games, so i should be home for them.
You never know, Moyes might do what Fergie did in his early years and throw youth in at the deep end. Hopefully the CS will give us a clue

Andreas Pereira looks a cracking prospect. Croskery is impressing as well.

McBurney & Mitchell look like they could be cracking players.
Pereira in goal looks good too.
