Here's one I never got. Why do Isreal clubs play in the champions league. I always assumed Israel was part of UEFA because it would likely be a security issue if Israel played matches in some of the countries surrounding it. That being, damn it feels good to be back in the champions league. |

Here's one I never got. Why do Isreal clubs play in the champions league. They were a member of the AFC from 54 to 74, but left after several AFC teams refused to play them. They have been an "associated" member of UEFA since 92, which entitles them to play in the UEFA club comps. Basically it's a political thing. |
