Ticket victory for United United fans will be given a £35 refund on their tickets for Sevilla away. There was outrage when the ticket prices were announced last month as they were priced far higher than the tickets Liverpool paid when they visited the city last month. An email sent to fans read: "We have decided to increase the ticket prices for Sevilla fans for the game at Old Trafford, and use this increase to subsidise our fans, as we want this to act as a deterrent to future opponents who look to increase ticket prices for our travelling fans. We will subsidise our travelling support by refunding the difference between the price charged (£89) and the price that was paid by Liverpool supporters in the group stage of this year’s competition (£54). The £35 difference will be refunded prior to the game." www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfer-news-live-14133287.amp?__twitter_impression=trueHopefully this results in Sevilla supporters kicking off at their club. Funny how the club has to 'raise the difference' though rather than just paying it out of the millions they shaft our own support for every chance they get. Pay the difference, don't rip off Sevilla supporters. We look brilliant and Sevilla look like shite. But oh no, someone has to pay, but Zeus knows it won't be the club. Also think it's a fucking joke that £ 54 is considered "reasonable". Think it's about not wanting to set a precedent. If the club would just pay the difference, then other clubs will increase the prices like Sevilla did, knowing that United will help the supporters. Increasing the price for the Sevilla fans might at least discourage other clubs of doing the exact same thing. And maybe Sevilla will listen to their own pissed fans now and will lower the price. It's not ideal but I think it was done as a last resort.

It's not ideal but I think it was done as a last resort. United are happy to have different price bands for regulars and tourists. But they aren't happy when other clubs do it? And they also incrementally put the prices up for CL games, after the Group Stage, round by round. In certain areas of the ground they are charging between £60 - £68 for a Semi-Final ticket depending on whether you are a ST holder, Member or Non-Member. I'd dread to think what prices they would be now, if they weren't pressured into freezing the prices the past few years! The only reason they don't want to set a precedent is cos it might cost them tens of thousands every so often. And we all know that money is earmarked for players the Gimps to siphon off for their own reptilian uses.

Aye, that might be questionable.

Also think it's a fucking joke that £ 54 is considered "reasonable". Not to bang on about this or anything, but crunching the numbers looks like this: Utd away allocation ('standard category' tickets): 2, 450 x £ 89.00 = £ 218,050.00 Sevilla away allocation (based on OT capacity of 74, 000 low estimate to allow for UEFA capacity reductions - should be 5% but Utd only give 4.1%): 3, 034 x £ 89.00 = £ 270,026.00 £ 270, 026.00 - £ 218, 050.00£ 51, 976.00 £ 51, 976.00 / 2, 450 away tickets = £ 21.21 So United could be knocking off just over an extra twenty quid a ticket for away supporters. The actual cost for those travelling would then go down to around £ 33.00 a ticket. Instead we're 'donating' the extra to the already hugely funded Foundation just so the club can hype up it's great-PR charity work? Call it selfish but to me the whole way they're doing things is a fucking joke.

Sevilla have announced their allocation is 2,995. Changes the figures slightly. Would be enough for a £ 19.80 further reduction on Utd away tickets.
They have also announced, quite ridiculously, that they will subsidise the new Old Trafford away ticket costs.

I suppose like foundations here in US, that hugely funded foundation is tax free and allows for many loop holes beneficial to some pockets?? Sometimes it is exceptionally pleasant to just grab granddaughters who play football, and go to a Semi pro or even high school match. If I was ever to get back to England and get chance to see a match, would take 2 years pension

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/seville-report-united-to-uefa-in-latest-ticket-row-twist-3s9sg3jlgSeville report United to Uefa in latest ticket row twistSeville have reported Manchester United to Uefa after they were not given the number of tickets they are entitled to for next month’s Champions League match at Old Trafford. The Spanish club have only been given 2,995 tickets rather than the 3,800 that they are allowed under Uefa’s rules, which state five per cent of seats should go to away fans. United say they would have to move part of the away support to the top of the East Stand, which police have advised against, if they allowed 3,800 Seville fans into the stadium. “This has been discussed with Uefa on a number of occasions, and is supported by both the Police and the Safety Advisory Group,” a United spokesperson said. United have decided to charge Seville fans £89 per ticket for the home leg after the Spanish club charged the same amount for the first leg at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium. United have agreed to subsidise the cost to away fans by giving them £35 each, meaning they will only pay £54, the same amount Liverpool fans paid when they played Seville in the group stages. Seville have agreed to subsidise the price increase for their travelling fans, but have also complained to Uefa about the ticketing costs. “We welcome Uefa’s willingness to discuss these issues,” United added. So, just to be clear, Sevilla charged our fans £89, and then when we did the same they have complained to UEFA about it. Amazing.

They are complaining because United have changed the ticket prices after the away allocation has already been taken up by Sevilla FC. They are also saying that similar tickets for United supporters (in Old Trafford) don't cost £89 and to charge more than United supporters is against UEFA rules.

But hang on, if I read this correctly, Sevilla are looking to charge our fans more than their own fans...so also against UEFA rules...or have I missed something?

So, Round of 16 draw is at 11.
We are up against - Barcelona, Bayern, Dortmund, Paris, Porto, Real Madrid
Previous meetings: Barcelona - P11 W3 D4 L4 F15 A20 Bayern - P11 W2 D5 L4 F13 A16 Dortmund - P6 W3 D1 L2 F13 A5 Paris - N/A Porto - P8 W3 D3 L2 F14 A11 Real Madrid - P11 W2 D4 L5 F17 A22
Trip to Porto or Paris could be interesting. Especially in March.
Or Munich for the obvious beerfest.
