There were several whispers that the Premier League was vehemently anti-VAR and it was introduced under duress. And there were also murmurings that it would be so incompetently used that it would turn fans off it. This has come to pass unfortunately. We’ve gone through several stages but we have now arrived at ‘What is the point?’ Which will be followed presumably by its scrapping in England at the first available opportunity. The Fabinho challenge might be a tipping point. The prick was already walking off and then it was overturned. Unreal. Do the current rules allow for a retrospective ban for obvious errors like this? Good question. There was the Ben Thatcher case, only booked for an absolutely disgusting elbow on Pedro Mendes, so much outcry about that he was subsequently banned; but that was a one off and about 20 years ago. Don't know if anything changed since. |

Another home draw but a comfortable one and should see us go into the 1/4 finals. Guaranteed though the first away fixture we have will be against City.
