Agent De Gea was texting Mata 5-6 times a day. All sounds a bit Mata Hari.....

I actually liked Cabaye in his first few months but then realized that he is just over rated. he will be at the most a squad player and i know the answer back will be he will be better than what we have but let's be honest better than what we is not really a statement -soton and Swansea have a better MF than ours.
Signing Mata and then an extension to Rooney and Cabaye is one step ahead and two steps back IMO.

Slightly jealous of Chelsea's Matic signing he is exactly the type of player we need in midfield albeit one of the two midfielders we need, a box to box would also be welcome. He is playing a Stoke team who are non-existent in attack, but he is getting his foot in to break their occasional play up and passing out to allow a Chelsea attack, and most importantly he is able to cover for when fat Frank deserts midfield to gallop forward looking for his obligatory goal. Still, the fools let Mata leave! Their loss is our gain

I have said it here before and will say it again. I rate Cabaye very highly. However now we have Mata and other attacking options from Midfield I would love to see a Roy Keane type signing than can compliment our flair. I think this is the priority now.

Agreed....we need two things (at least) one box to box if we can get such a thing and one solid defensively to screen the back 4...now we have Mata we are not so badly off in the creativity department...we now need to stop being overrun in midfield and keep clean sheets....

I think Fellaini should get a chance to fill that gap

Fellaini plays that same position for Belgium who are not shit he needs to be given game time now with a lot of legs around him because he looks slow, in fact I cant remember him looking that Slow at Everton. How long is Carrick/Fellaini out for?

No, he doesn't. That's like saying Kagawa plays out left for Japan in the same way he is forced to for us.

I really want to see Fellaini be a big player for us, but he can't do it without someone mobile beside him, article on bbc in which moyes has promised more signings, but doubts he can get them in January, think he reiterates the surprise that Chelsea sold him to us.
To be honest I am feeling a lot more positive about moyes since the mata transfer, it's the first sign that he might be building towards something exciting and I hope he can do it and be successful long term.
Of course this means he will have to change his tactics and I hope he is almost forced into it with Mata, but then develops and learns to battle for the title and other major trophies. With the help of 4-5 more marquee signings.

I must admit I have never seen him play for them. I think there is a very good player in him somewhere. Not sure where exactly he should play. My instinct says he should shield our defence.

Speaking to the Everton dippers, they said it took quite some time for the tree to settle at Everton and that at times the team was set up around him, if thats the case I cant see us building the team around him, so he has to adapt or go. Oh and they did laugh at the price we paid for him, the cunts

Pretty much this; it's what he does for Belgium. In a three, with the likes of Dembele and Hazard or Witsel making up the trio. Fellaini does the dirty graft in midfield, then feeds it off to one of the really creative players. The two in around him makes such a difference, he looks so much less off the pace and immobile. Gets across the whol pitch helping out his defence. Think the Makelele-role but with an occasional foray forwards as well. A midfield/attacking set-up like this one: RB -- CB -- CB -- LB Fellaini Fletcher --- --- Januzaj --- Kagawa --- Mata
Robin van Persie
... could be a genuine sight to behold.
