Another International break and one more week goes by without watching United in action. However, our players were in action across the globe and below is a snapshot of some impressive performances:
England 4 -1 Montenegro Welbz - had a hand in 3 of England's 4 goals. Played as winger Rooney - 1 goal from Welbeck's deflected shot. Played as #10 Carrick - replaced an off-colour Lampard and excelled in the midfield
Netherlands 8 - 1 Hungary RvP - Hat-trick. boy-o-boy, becomes leading scorer for Netherlands
Mexico 2 - 1 Panama Chico - Missed a penalty but provided an assist
Ecuador 1 - 0 Uruguay Valencia - Assist for Ecuador's only goal against star studding attacking lineup
Evra helped France keep a clean sheet, was dependable without being too adventurous in France's 6-0 win over Australia
On a bitter note: Pogba starred, Ozil and Strootman scored. Know why I am saying this?
P.S. Mods kindly merge if a similar thread exists. I couldn't find one

Did you watch the match mate? I felt it was all over in 27 minutes when Giroud scored. Maybe Australia did well after that. Cant comment as didnt follow after that. Scoreline doesn't suggest that

Righto Paul. It would give him a shot in the arm, though I dont think he was low on confidence. He was just not receiving the right service. The guy who gives that kind of service is warming the bench and the ones on the field are seeking personal glory than providing an assist.

Carrick is having a fantastic game for England. Completely running the show. And Gerrard looks a better player for it.

Ah, that's ok, Roy has reverted back to mongism. Takes Carrick off for Lampard. Much more like it.

Lampard was dreadful when he came on as well.
Thought Danny was unlucky a couple of times tonight. He put in a real fucking shift though. Smalling was very solid and Rooney had a good game too. And I had him as first scorer which helps. I feel like that is too positive an assessment of him. The fat cunt. There. That's better.

I was thinking Ravel Mrrison was going to be another dissapointment from our academy, & he would let his potential go to waste, now I just wish we'd buy him back!

What the fuck will it take Danny to finish in front of goal. Dreadful attempt with the goal gaping. But solid shift apart from that.

"Four Reds played at Wembley as England secured their passage through to the World Cup. Wayne Rooney got England on their way with a cushioned header and Michael Carrick was replaced by Lampard in the heart of midfield in the 2nd half. Danny Welbeck performed well but was guilty of spurning a couple of chances for the Three Lions and Chris Smalling had some hairy moments in defence but will be happy with the clean sheet.
Elsewhere, Nani got on the scoresheet for Portugal as they enjoyed themselves against Luxembourg, winning 3-0. They will face a play-off though after Russia got the point they needed to top that group.
One of his rivals for a starting berth at Old Trafford, Antonio Valencia, will be in Rio next year after Ecuador made it through. The South American side lost their last game 2-1 away against Chile despite the winger playing the full ninety minutes but made it through anyway.
Robin van Persie and the Netherlands will also be there. The Dutchman played the first half of their 2-0 win over Turkey but - with the team having already qualified - he was rested for the second half.
However, Mexico and Javier Hernandez will have to wait. They will face New Zealand in a play-off next month after falling to a surprise 2-1 defeat at Costa Rica. Chico missed a sitter.
France are also in a play-off after finishing 2nd to Spain in their group. Patrice Evra played as they beat Georgia 2-0.
Japan had already qualified for the finals; however, Shinji Kagawa got more minutes (and miles) under his belt as they lost 1-0 to Belarus in a friendly."
