England u21s just beat Finland u21s 3 nil, Michael Keane got the first and Berahino got the other 2. Zaha played the full 90 but was disappointing for me, he's got to learn when to take on his man and when to release the ball, maybe he was trying too hard due to the lack of football he's had so far this season. Lingard replaced Morrison for the last 10 and set up Berahino's second with a good run and pass, this is quite a nice u21 team for England, plenty of technical ability combined with players like Sterling and Zaha who can beat a man.

England "fans", pundits and journalists are all absolutely ripping into Cleverley. For me he outshone Gerrard tonight, who just kept spraying useless long-range passes across the pitch and giving it away. Despite that he gets all this "he only plays for England because he's at United" bullshit and everyone saying how apparently awful he is.
Apparently they'd rather have James fucking Milner, the creaking pair of Gerrard and Lampard, the fantastically mediocre Jordan Henderson and the ever-overrated and underwhelming Jack Wilshire than Tom Cleverley. Enough said really.

England really are garbage aren't they?
Haven't watched any of the game but sounds a complete load.
Normally when a team is so crap for so long you'd see a lot of changes, keep trying to change things until you get it right.
England just keep picking the same old players again and again and again and hoping it'll magically work one day. Says everything that up to the last few years only Shilton, Charlton, Wright and Moore had a century of caps. Now Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole and very soon Rooney have joined them. And only injuries kept Neville, Rio and Owen from reaching it too. That's 8 players just getting picked every single game regardless of performances over 15 years of mediocrity.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. By that standard England's last few managers have been licking the windows, shouting at pigeons, howling at the moon fucking maniacs.

In fairness they were actually fairly decent tonight, with some really good attacking play and some good passing. The main issue was poor defending and a lack of end product. Plenty of good build-up play but nothing on the end of it, they'd just come up against a wall of Germans on the 6 yard box and fail to find a way through.
The reason why the same players have been picked over and over again for such a long time is more of a reflection of how awful the talent pool has been in English football in the last 10-15 years and beyond. Its only now that it has finally clicked that they have to update coaching methods, invest from the bottom up and start appreciating technical ability and skill over strength and aggression. Changes like that won't come to fruition for 10-15 years.
Plus it doesn't help that any young player with a modicum of talent gets heaps of pressure piled on by the media as they tout them as the next English saviour. Look at what they're doing to Andros Townsend now; he's being hailed as England's biggest threat and the next big thing but from watching him he just looks like another Theo Walcott, pace to burn but just runs directly at the opposition and then loses it when he gets into a muddle.
In the meantime mediocre is the best England fans can hope for.

I don't think its as bad as some England fans make out. What are they expecting?, the beat Germany who are one of the top sides in international football, catch yourself's on for heavens sake. This is quite a young England team, it will do them the world of good to go into a tournament not being hyped up and little expected of them. On another note I think Ronnie should be looking at the Ballon D'or this year, he done the business tonight for his country and was the difference between them qualifying and not, Ribery you must be joking, Schweinsteiger was the stand out player in Bayerns team last season for me.

I thought England were actually alright in the first half. It just wasn't a great game. It's not like the Germans were brilliant either.
I think saying Cleverley outshone Gerrard first half was a stretch. Gerrard basically had control of the game for large periods and barring one particularly good reverse ball I didn't think Cleverley brought anything to the table. Having said that, he contributed more than Henderson and Wilshere did when they came on.
Chrissy did well barring the German goal. Hart clattering him was madness.

Fuck Ronaldo, since he signed his new contract I was honestly hoping Sweden would knock them out.
Great player, best in the world no doubt, but my affection for the guy isn't nearly as whimsical as what's going on up there ^ haha.
Anyway, did anyone see what my little country did against Spain last night? That was a pleasant surprise! One qualm though - and this is pretty disgraceful - as it's an official FIFA friendly both teams were allowed to make a maximum of 6 changes. Casillas got replaced by Valdes and, when Valdes got injured in the second half (at this point Spain had made their 6 changes and we were 1-0 up) and I think Busquets or someone was getting ready to assume the keeper duties.
Then suddenly, for some benign reason, Spain pulls rank, brings on Reina (the 7th sub), with our manager freaking out, and the match is regarded as a training match. Meaning the result means basically nothing. What. the. fuck. Convenient.
Also, thanks England for ruining my multiplier last night and not scoring. Also thanks Netherlands for, well, nothing.
BRING BACK THE REAL FOOTY.

Managed to miss the matches due to life commitments (i.e. having one ;-) ). Don't get me wrong when united aren't playing I do like watching internationals but not during the season (it's always heart in mouth that we'll just get our squad decimated with injuries - imagine being a Newcastle fan watching your multi million £ signing fucking his knee ligaments in the opening seconds ! ) Disappointed to hear that Jones is injured, but glad thats the only international injury to one of our squad. Looking forward to United matches.

Saw the first 30/35 minutes of the Sweden vs Portugal game before going out to meet up with a mate of mine who's moving to Amsterdam next month. Thought to meself, 'This is alright, the game's never going to take off. Portugal will probably go through on aggregate' ...
DAMN!
