If he really has turned a corner in maturity and mentality then I'd sign the lad back in a heartbeat. I still remember the thrill of watching him in the reserves, just disappearing past people with the ball and thinking how unbelievable he was going to be for us.
Shame is, I doubt it will ever happen as we won't spend the money to get him back. That he might fall into a bad crowd again is a bit of a worry for him personally and for us but if he has wised up you would hope he stays wised up.
One thing I have picked up on though, in some of Big Sam's comments, is this stuff about Morrison loving football. I recall people who generally can be relied upon saying the guy didn't even like footie, and just played because he was so good. Either they were wrong, or the penny really has dropped!

He's a superb talent but theres pretty good reasons why he left. And most of them are still in Manchester presumably. Stew brings up an excellent point.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2456884/West-Ham-want-offer-Ravel-Morrison-new-contract-Sam-Allardyce-scared-Manchester-United-buy-back.htmlI'm worried Moyes will come back for Ravel: Big Sam fears United move West Ham make a £25,000 payment to Manchester United every time the midfielder makes a first-team appearance - but Sam Allardyce is petrified the champions will try and buy his new star back. The Hammers agreed the installment arrangement as part of the complicated transfer that sent Morrison to Upton Park last year on top of the initial £650,000 fee. Now West Ham want to offer the England Under 21 international, who has 18 months left on his present deal, an improved contract in January should he continue to blossom under boss Allardyce, reports the Sunday Telegraph. As far as Allardyce knows there is no buy-back clause giving United first option engineered in the 20-year-old's deal - something West Ham confirmed on Sunday afternoon - but he remains wary that David Moyes will want the reformed youngster back. 'I don't know if there is a buy-back clause and what that figure might be even if it exists,' he told the Sunday People. 'But my real big worry is that Manchester United will come back to buy him. 'Look at what happened when Chris Smalling played a handful of games for Fulham - United jumped in with £10 million. Then there was Phil Jones when I was at Blackburn - that's what you are up against.' There is also believed to be a complicated release clause in Morrison's current contract which amounts to more than £20million. West Ham will also want that quickly renegotiated for the attacking midfielder. Morrison has so far made eight appearances this season – triggering payments of £200,000 to United – having spent the previous campaign on loan at Birmingham City. When Sir Alex Ferguson decided to sell Morrison in January of last year, a £3m fee was discussed with West Ham, who were then in the Championship. But the London club eventually paid a fraction of the figure that was initially demanded upfront and instead agreed to pay United per game. Ferguson's friendship with Allardyce helped West Ham to secure the deal. --------- Very, very interesting.

There is no way we'll pay money to bring him back when we could be getting money for him playing for West Ham.
That's the theory anyway, when he's signed with a huge money pay packet by city or Chelsea or someone, then we'll be truly sca-rewed.

Thought it was. You can see Morrison trot a bit. Can't tell if Zaha did it deliberately though. If he did, why would he?

Looks like Zaha wouldn't let whatever he wanted to get across go, but still, was a stupid reaction by Morrison. Needs to cut out any shit like that and rise above it.
On another note, I'm looking forward to watch him playing against Yaya and co on Saturday.

Stupid reaction but it's just a bit of handbags really.

No matter how talented you are, if your personality is toxic to the team, it just wouldn't work. I'm not quite sold on Morrison returning will do us 100% good.
If he's still a douche, I'd rather us continue to concentrate on developing Cleverley, Welbeck, Zaha, Smalling, Jones, Powell, Lingard, Blackett, De Gea, Januzaj, Henrique, Varela and co. - give them all the chances rather than relying on what's past.

Apparently he was on a hattrick but didn't get to take the penalty Zaha confronted him about how pissed off he was. I don't mind it, it shows desire which is good considering people weren't sure he even liked football a while back.

I doubt the club will want him back, more trouble than he's worth. I heard Big Same say he would not leave for anything under 20 million! How ridiculous is that! I certainly wouldn't pay 20 million for him, lets see how he performs for the rest of the campaign. As someone has already suggested I would prefer to go for Ross Barkley, he's a stunning player.

Pretty sure his buyout clause is 19 million.
