A full sky subscription, BT subscription on top of that, this kind of deal is not good for supporters of football. Personally I think he's mad mate, In my opinion its a matter of time before satellite tv owns the rights to the world cup and the european championship. Theres a reason the CL final has been held at wembley for twice in two years, UEFA are becoming more and more like the premier league as an organisation.

I'm amazed this was allowed to happen, the UK tries to avoid monopolies on such things. No CL finals on terrestrial?
Not that it affects me that much, ya know, Internet.

Totally shitty for me. I can't afford Sky or BT and Virgin doesn't cover where I live. Champions League football was practically the only football I got to watch on TV and now that's gone. All I have left is the occasional shitty England friendly game or the early round FA Cup minnows on ITV. Fucking depressing.
I suppose at least it doesn't happen until 2015 so my circumstances will hopefully change in the meantime.

The finals will still be free to air but that's a pretty shitty compromise, the uk government have stepped in before when they pretty much forced sky to allow other networks access to English football but because this is a deal with Uefa theres probably nothing the government can do because it isn't a UK company. All these extra TV companies doesn't make it cheaper for the average fan because they need two subscriptions just to follow every televised game there clubs play in. BT apparently paid alot more, a whole £200 million more, the media says this is all about boosting there broadband business, you won't see me buying shitty BT broadband for the sake of football, skys broadband is much better than BT's.

What is it with us underselling and overpaying for things?
Royal Mail, overpriced British players and now this. Jeez.

This idea that BT customers have preference is rubbish. The quality of any ISP resides in how many people use there service and the quality of there infrastructure. Virgin Media for example have spent billions on fibre optic and cable broadband in built up areas, I have this service at home, yes its expensive but its alot better than any shit BT can serve up in most areas.

Its not. I previously worked for BT, thats where I first heard of this. My cousin also had lots of trouble with them and had countless engineers out, his house is beside the exchange and his connection was constantly fluctuating, eventually they got around the problem by removing the restrictor on his line, they are apparently on all lines according to the engineer. I am no fan of anything BT but I fail to see how the same product in a different package can be superior? Skys customer services are better to deal with to a point but cannot arrange any network fixes as they only rent usage from BT, who bizarrely outsource all maintenance to openreach, designed no doubt to shift accountability due to their many incompetences. Virgins BB is far superior, unfortunately I cant get it.

FA/UEFA/FIFA/Broadcasters or whoever it is, are isolating fans more and more, there will be many UK fans who simply will not be watching footy soon which is very sad, yet FIFA claim they want to bring footy to the world! I heard we pay more for footy viewing than any other nation.... I dunno if thats fact or not though.......

Your right, I have had BT Infinity for 9 months and it went down once, on a Saturday, an engineer came Sunday morning at 9am and it was fixed by 9:30. In contrast my mate has Sky broadband and it went down last Friday and Sky could not do a thing about it as it was a line fault and it was not fixed until Tuesday evening. Sky customer services seem far superior to BT's though. It seems BT has pretty much every one by the gonads at the moment. It also appears BT are slowly building a monopoly by going through the back door so to speak.... Cunts spring to mind.
