i get the feeling people forget that Pirlo is like 300 years old. lol. seriously though, as class as he is, i wouldn't touch him now. no guarantee he'll manage the tempo of the prem, he's 34 (35 in May), and to be honest in my eyes it would be Scholes all over again: one of the class CM's of a generation losing his ability in our team while keeping us from moving on to a younger and (currently) better model. For example, i couldn't choose Pirlo over Fernando if both are available (Again based on current levels, not a body of work over a career, 'cus Pirlo was clearly a cut above 95% of CM in his pomp) That's a non-entity. The premier league is not as good as it used to be and Pirlo is technically better than 98% of our league. He does not have to adjust to any tempo. He dictates the fucking tempo. |

Akinfeev was always the first signing I'd make, I'd have him understudy VDS for a season or two and then he'd take over. Total beast in FM. Shows that perhaps we shouldn't always trust how good players are on Football Manager.Akinfeev is class in real life though, just played out most of his career in the Russian doldrums for whatever reason. Probably money. He's only 27 too, actually be a pretty fine signing for most clubs. Not United though, we have a better, younger keeper. But if City wanted to replace their flapper they could do worst than Igor. |

The bold ones are essential i'd say. Carrick is out for 6 weeks + he is at an age where i feel he will start getting these niggles tima and again and there is not gonna be any use in thinking that Ando or Clevs can do what he does. We could take a punt on Powell but it could backfire or put a huge burden on his shoulders and we don't know if he can handle it.
Considering that we should of load Ando, Young and hopefully for a good price Nani as well and the gimps aren't gonna shells out huge money with Ed in charge. Fernando and Matuidi could be the best bit of business if we got them. Gives us the steel in MF that we have so craved for. Surprised that PSG have let Matuidi'd contract run down.
Think Alonso could go back to the shit hole or to JM and Pirlo and Lewa would be a real luxury
I'd go for Toivonen for supllying us with goals from the MF area but like Bestie said we have to contend with PHC ATM so
