Really good player, creative with bite. Sounds ideal, right?
He does have a few serious off-the-pitch issues though. In brief he has:
- Smashed up a hotel room and (videoed it) while with the Argie U-20s.
- Had an 'Ashley Young' incident with a webcam.
- Got stopped by Spanish police for driving whilst drunk.
- (And my personal favourite Looney Toons moment) He left the parking brake off in his car when getting petrol, it ran over his leg, he broke his leg and ankle, and was out for six months.
- Blown up a Ferrari. (Not really, but something short-ciruited and it went on fire.)
- Allegedly turned up boozed to training two days before playing - and dominating, and scoring against - Barcelona.
On the pitch he's a class player though, so I'd still like to see him here. Especially if he wants to leave Valencia and Moyesie can set his head straight.

But seriously though, his name has been thrown around for years so the fact that he's still being touted must say something. Our record with Argentinians isn't great so I don't know. If he's good enough he's, well- yeah, good enough.

Anyone else get the impression that some of the players linked with are ones Moyes may have scouted for Everton? Fernando, Cabella, Banega etc..
EDIT: It's no sly dig at Moyes.. Just curious is all. For the record, Banega is a cracking player and Fernando seems a proper DM.

Don't worry guys...the fact that I started this thread means that it will never come to fruition...I admit that it was I who started the Thiago thread - we didn't get him. I started a thread about a Pogba problem - he left us and I may have strted one on Morrison and he buggered off too... Not a great track record. So is there anyone we DON'T want to sign that you would like me to start a thread for?   EDIT: I also 'did' Kodogbia, Lewandowski and Falcao...so maybe I'll just shut up about anyone we want to really get..... |
