With only couple of points separating top 4 teams, this years title race seems to be most open in years. United not being in the mix due to transition, plus general improvement from teams like Liverpool and Everton have improved overall quality of the league this year and closed the gap on the top.
With gap ever so closer, I thought it'd be good to make a separate thread, where we can discuss this years title race.
Current league standings after 18 games.
1) Arsenal - 39 Points 2) City - 38 Points 3) Chelsea - 37 points 4) Liverpool - 36 Points 5) Everton - 34 Points 6) Newcastle - 33 Points 7) United - 31 Points 8) Spurs - 31 points

Aye saw that. But seems its for all premier league games rathar then just to discuss Title race. I thought it'd be appropriate to discuss teams title credentials with looking at a set of fixtures every weekend. Anyway its your choice, if you like the concept keep it or delete it no problem.

Think points not places. We have few teams ahead of us instead of one or two. Its very difficult because to claw the points back off, all of the teams need to suffer bad form and we need to win as many points as possible. I think our run of next five fixtures will really define our title aspirations. If we get 13 points from those with 4 wins and a draw against Chelsea, we'd be in great position. As everyone bar Arsenal have tough few fixtures coming up.

I like this thread if its just focusing on say the top 8 positions.... with the final day of the season showing the bin dippers are 8th or lower would be a great way to freeze the thread

It's so tight at the top they just need to drop points against each other to give us a chance. Not saying we'll win it but again its the points that are important not the position.

we play spurs and Chelseas next right and Chelsea play City , i'd say whatever chances we've got would need to be thought only after that. Right now it (sadly) has to be between City and Chelsea even though Arsenal top it and haven't bottled it so far this season. Pool could back into the mix depending on how Sturridge comes back - remember SAS was gonna blow away everyone.
Us ATM and till the end of season just one game at a time

Why so ? if we have a chance of making it to the top 4 or heck challenge for the title so do they, they are 2 points of top without a proper striker and they sure will look to bolster that in Jan - no i wouldn't write them off just yet

They ain't winning the league with Torres though.

City are certainly favorites given the quality of their squad, its depth and their amazing home form.
City this season reminds me of our 10-11 title winning campaign.
Imperrious at home, dogshite away.

All i am saying is that i am not gonna discount them off just yet.The way i see it it could most likely be between City and themelves and will be down to who shoots their own legs off. Also i have a gut feel that all of them will stumble more than once- even city with their squad and depth and yadayadaya

Just mentioned in the other thread: My prediction: 1. Shitty 2. Chelshit 3. The greatest club in the world 4. Le Arse 5. Dont want to spoil my mood by naming them. 77 points should be more than enough to win the title.
