I've mentioned this in one of the Threads already, but I thought it'd be useful to stick in a new thread as well.
If you are finding a poster particularly annoying, or you think they might be a WUM, the new forum set-up allows you to actually Block a member's posts from appearing in threads you're looking at. Posts by a blocked member have the option in the thread to be displayed on a post-by-post basis. This could be a really handy function when Members find a poster irritating, but the poster is not breaking Forums rules (thus, won't be banned for example).
There are options for blocking: that member's posts, starting a PM convo with you, Follow you, and any notifications from them, any combination of those four.
Here's how to do it:
Hopefully, this will save people a lot of frustration/grief when they find another member's posts so out of whack that they just get annoyed trying to reply to them or have a conversation.
I am NOT advocating that anyone use this function lightly, different opinions are good and debate is what forums are about. I'm just letting people know that it is there if they would like the option for extreme cases.
