Hello RoMs:

I've been watching United since the 2000-01 season. Recently it's become a lot easier to watch EPL matches, as the matches are shown on NBC. For awhile I had GolTV, Setanta, and Fox Soccer, so I saw every league, cup, Champions League and friendly, and they even had the reserve team matches for awhile. I became a United fan through Scholes and Giggs. Scholes during the 98 World Cup and Giggs through some Welsh friends. I basically followed Scholes back to his club. I know it's a bit cliche for Americans to support United, or so it seems, but in reality most of my friends who are EPL fans support Arsenal, Chelsea, or Liverpool. Even a couple Spurs and Palace fans. At any rate, I wanted to be part of an online discussion about United and I'm sick to death of the trolling and infantilism of the Guardian message boards and so on.

Nice introduction and don't worry about some of the lads comments here, it's just a reflection of bad times unknown for far too long. Some of us needed a reminder that footy is also about losing "sometimes" and learning to cope with all the bric-bats. Sounds like you managed to come unscathed through a wilderness populated by teams that are usually referred to here by their better known names of Rentboys (Chelsea) etc. Lots of great guys here and quite a few from the USA so you're not alone.
