Hi all,
My names Ian, currently residing in Warrington, I'm a life long United fan and I've been a Match going red since 84, Season ticket holder since 96. I have been following ROM for a while and also follow Scott on Twitter so I thought it was only polite that I signed up and got a bit more involved. First game I ever went to was the 5-0 win against Newcastle (Sept 84) Favourite player in the current squad is fast becoming Juan Mata. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet but you can tell he's a class act, both on and off the pitch. Favourite past player is a tough one but I'd have to go with Remi Moses, closely followed by Eric.
My feelings regarding our current position are mixed, to be honest. I am not enjoying what i'm seeing on the pitch, but I don't think the fault is entirely Moyes' because, although his tactics are bordering on woeful at times, some players just aren't performing for him. I really wanted Moyes to succeed, and I think the "give him time" argument is a fair one, but did anyone really think we'd be THIS bad ? To be honest I feel for him because he is clearly a decent bloke but i have to say i think he's out of his depth.
Having said that, I think that we have a lot of spoilt and frankly embarrassing fans with the opinion that we have a divine right to win the league every year, and I think that they would benefit from us being shite for a few seasons.
Thanks for having me.

Hi Banky and welcome aboard.
Great intro. Like the Remi note, agreed a great player and often forgotten. You will find we are a growing band of "Moyes out" fans here but not because we have a divine right of success. Most here are focused upon the poor quality of football, questioned the transfers, and the generally the decline in a team that was champions not so long ago. I for one never wanted Moyes and thought it was a mistake bringing in a small time manager to run a club that is today a global brand. Others still believe he can turn it around. Its good that we can all share our opinions without being too sectarian. Hope you stick around,
Phil

Thanks Phil,
I remember meeting Remi when i was about 12 years old, we were waiting outside the changing room and he came out and chatted to us for a bit. It made my day that he took a few minutes out and i've never forgotten it.
Regarding Moyes, Unfortunately, I think you're right. I certainly don't want us to be one of those knee jerk teams that goes through a manager every couple of years but when it's this bad somethings got to give. The Greatest club in the world deserves one of the worlds greatest managers, and DM is certainly not in that category. I'd take Jurgen Klopp tomorrow.

Moses was a bloody good player, sadly ruined by injuries. What I'd give to have a guy like him in midfield now.

Welcome pal,
Nice intro, I agree that we have no divine right to win anything, personally when Moyes was announced I was happy to settle for top 4 and some really good cup runs for his first season but showing a forward positive plan for the future, alas he has seemingly failed even this standard by what looks like a very long margin. Therefore he has to go, of course I don't want a manager every 2 years but I also dont want a manager that is destroying us.
I have many reasons for wanting Moyes out, my number 1 though is his lack of his youth policy and the way he has treated players like Zaha. I know its reported Zaha has been naughty at training but a great man manager would manage that and not simply ship him off on loan and that really gripes me.
Anyway I hope you stick around and offer your thoughts.

Thanks Reefer,
The youth policy is one area where I thought we may benefit from appointing Moyes rather than say, Mourinho but it appears I was wide of the mark on that one. I'm not a fan of "player power" but if the rumours are true and some of the senior players are starting to vocalise their frustrations, I'll be surprised if he sees the season out. Nobody likes to admit they cocked up but Fergie must be thinking it now. One thing's for sure, I'm going to enjoy Tomorrow night as I've a feeling it might be our last European night for a while. (not that I'm a pessimist or anything)

Welcome mate.
Old Remi Moses. First black player to score for United apparently. Deserves a bit more recognition for that alone surely.

I'm quite glad I didn't know that stat. Really? You don't see how being the first black player to do a signficant thing for a club has anything to do with anything? You know things weren't always the way they are now? When he was playing black players were routinely having banana's thrown at them at games, I'd say having the courage to ignore that and go our there and perform regardless is of huge significance and paved the way for the black players we have today to perform without fear of abuse. (At least in games when John Terry isn't playing)

I'm glad that stat was forgotten as it shows we have moved on. In the U.S they still talk like that because racism is still a big issue away from the mainstrem.

I remember he did a disappearing act and nobody knew where he'd gone. My aunty did though, as being a travel agent in town he'd booked a flight with her and fucked off to Jamaica or someplace like that!! Welcome to the show bud. I've just started a job in woolston not far from Warrington.
