Kept my opinion of it all quite silent simply because no matter how its worded the moment you question it your branded "disrespectful" or "a typical bitter manc". I fully respect it and agree that nobody should go to a football match and not be able to go home, I also agree that the families deserve justice. However I really dont understand why this must be upstaged every season and why its seems to be put on some sort of pedestal. A minutes silence has always been suffice no matter the tragedy unless its a special year i.e 50th anniversary. So why should this be any different. When they finally get their justice, what then, k.o's get changed to 17:48 the time the judge hits his hammer with a verdict? Its getting a bit much to be fair, nobody will forget so they need to ease it with making it look like it will. I hope they do get their justice so the 96 can rest in peace. It's a good point you make. Where does it all end? In my opinion these people will never truly rest in peace whilst the whole thing is still being rammed into everyone's faces. And there'll be no closure for their families either. It suited the media and the Liverpool fans for this whole thing to have fallen on this weekend. In my opinion they've taken what should have been a simple minutes silence and turned it into hype for the biggest game in their modern league history. No team talk was necessary today. All Rodgers had to do was turn on the radio and let the players listen to the half hour of buildup on Talkshite. The largely Liverpool supporting media have done his job for him in their quest to complete the Steven Gerrard Story.

I notice that rather than just a normal, respectful black armband this weekend every team had to wear one with some Hillsborough Logo on it. I have to ask the question, why is that necessary? Would we not know what the armbands are for without it?
But if you say anything, it's disrespecting the deaths of 96 people.

It's become such a big deal because of the government coverup, and it was football fans that got fucked over, and as a whole we've been paying for it for years because of a lie. I've no real problem with it, because I think of it as the Tory government fucking over football as a whole and not just Scousers. So in that way, it's justice for all of us.
I'm much more bothered by how well they are playing and how Moyes is fucking us over by having us play shite. 7 mins silence and black armbands are the least of our problems.

Loss of life is terrible in any circumstance. At a football match especially so. However banging the drum on and on and on is a little too much. Look I feel for the families of the Hillsborough disaster. However using key football matches as a tool to strum up feeling and public pity is done to give their team a better chance in matches. Liverpool could not lose yesterday. Impossible. City had 2 stone wall penalties turned down. In different circumstances? ?

Its a sad world when top tradgedy trumps becomes a bigger issue to the dippers than life it self.
