Nah, can't stand him. Played for Millwall, played for Everton, that handcuffs gesture for his c*nt brother who, completely unprovoked, kicked a man in the face twice and blinded him in one eye, then absconded on bail to Australia for three fucking years. Seriously, what a shitbag. (The brother.)
I know Cahill 'apologised' for the offence but he shouldn't have done it at all in the first place. He didn't apologise for actually doing it.
Anyway, the point is, Australia would be a great World Cup pick. Suits the FIFA bullshit about 'spreading the sharing and growth of football around the world' too.

I hear you and it's such a shame that any of our soldiers go to these wars in the name of "terror". I just don't think America should be the model country. Australia would be my choice i was going to choose somewhere to have a World Cup. They're sport crazy and let's be honest their football could do with it. They have the infrastructure and man power to be able to sort their stadiums, slave free. I'm sure the Aborigines will be as pleased as punch just like the masses in Brazil's favelas - a new opportunity to reinforce civil-police relations.

Two of my favourite players both had brothers in jail.

It isn't that his brother is in jail, it's why. It's also the disgracefully lenient sentence for blinding a man in one eye and leaving him at constant risk of losing sight in the other one as well.

I can't say too much I'm not that clued up on Australian politics/history but I know the aborigines have been shit on but they're fighting for their rights back. What would your ideas be then? I think it's pretty unfair on Australia not getting chance to host the biggest sportin competition (better than the Olympics) because it doesn't suit us? After all FIFA harp on about building football in places where it hasn't fully developed yet.

Barry wants his war - last couple of years he's waved his cock at N Korea and China - then wanted to bomb the hell out of Syria to help the "rebels" who turn out to be the terrorists of ISIS - Putin put him in his place with the UN veto and now he's waving his cock at Russia over Ukraine TBH Ukraine or Crimea has got feck all to do the the US or UK (apart from that lovely oil we get) - we have our own problems and I'm more concerned with the British old, sick and disabled getting their benefits cut off and the terrorist threat to us than a microwar in Ukraine So to get back to the original question - NO I don't think Russia should host the world cup because they got it by bribery - same as Qatar did because FIFA is more corrupt than any politician that walked this shithole of a planet Just my opinion

With you on that we need to start looking after ourselves before trying to fix other counties. Just got to look at the state of our country! Pity we follow whatever America do though. But as long as the politicians keep getting rich they won't give a flying fuck what happens to anyone else.
And I agree on Russia and Qatar should both be stripped of it. Give it to counties that deserve it

While we are on the subject, the top nation who's fans bought tickets to the WC in Brazil was.....USA (+20k). And was nobody else impressed with the major gatherings all around the country for every match?....we have been hard done by the politics of FIFA...

After all FIFA harp on about building football in places where it hasn't fully developed yet. FIFA's 'welfare' product is a joke; it's not an association for good. That pirate ship sails into a country every four years and for a few weeks all is promo and cash. The reality of building grounds, the backhanders and the corruption rarely leave a country richer for the privilege. On the whole, when it comes to poorer countries the impact is brief and costly, while in richer countries it has little economic impact because the grounds are already built and the facilities exist. It's all about political kudos and commerciality - they have little to do with developing football. Read FIFA's accounts, they are quite illuminating about expenditures and beneficiaries - tax havens and slush funding seem to be the larger beneficiaries. A brave option would be Tibet so the world could spotlight the Chinese occupation and expose the human rights violations. Oh no can't do that cos Chinese are on the main board and provide big financial backing.....

Sorry but it should go to Qatar - they paid enough!! Hopefully sooner rather than later some organisation will compete with FIFA and Qatar might just be the straw to break its hold over world footy.

I actually think the World Cup should come back to England/UK before it goes back to North America. It's a bit of a joke that England hasn't hosted a World Cup since '66.

And was nobody else impressed with the major gatherings all around the country for every match?....we have been hard done by the politics of FIFA... We had a WC in the States 20 years ago. Not sure if "hard done by" is the correct term. I think the Aussies, Scandanavia, England, Spain, hell, I would like to see Columbia get another shot, all have a call to host before us personally. I would have preffered it to go to Egypt before Qatar, at least they qualify for the tournament. I might be in the minority here, but I have no problem with Russia hosting. At least they don't need to build ten new stadiums and have a reasonable football history. I am one that would prefer politics left out of sport and if you think every country that has hosted a WC hasn't greased a palm here and there, I think you might be surprised. The whole process is seemingly corrupt from top to bottom.
