So UEFA's punishment to clubs spending too much money is to force them to ... spend more money?

Makes no sense, how does UEFA getting more money solve the problem of clubs distorting the financial balance of the sport?
Wait, don't answer that.

Wonder had it been us would something be done, always makes me think. These rules that Uefa bring in are pointless. You break them and the punishment is laughable.
Might aswell scrap the FFP if the punishment is a fine. City or PSG wont give 2 shits about that, they are filthy rich ffs.
Barca have a 2 window transfer ban lifted aswell. Blatter is a giant fucking melt. Sucking the proverbial cock of the money men.

It's bloody fucking brilliant...
Let's fine the ones who consider any amount a drop in the ocean AND are already used to grand economical losses on a daily basis.
Brilliant!

I'm not going to lie to you, I don't know how FFP is actually allowed in the first place. It's like saying to a company that your not allowed to invest money to make it better. "Sorry Sony, you're not allowed to invest in RND to make a new console as its not fair"

"Sorry Sony, you're not allowed to invest in RND to make a new console as its not fair" It works in American sports, its designed to stop clubs going bankrupt and teams hovering up the cream of world talent. I think that UEFA are just not big enough or powerful enough to enforce FFP. If they said to PSG or City, you can't play in the CL until you meet the requirements they would be going to the courts and throwing EU law about and then the whole concept of FFP would be in doubt. The concept of FFP alone was never enough in my opinion, some sort of restrictions or cap on transfer spending would be alot more effective. The top clubs make serious money from TV and can easily meet FFP and spend significant money on the worlds best players. If I was running the game i would implement FFP as it is but restrict what clubs can spend over 2 or 3 transfer windows. This would stop clubs like bayern for example hovering all of Dortmunds best players up and making the league pretty much there own every season. It would also encourage the clubs to develop there own players instead of going and buying a team.

Sky sources understand the fine will be payable over three years although City are reportedly contesting the sanctions. And with City deciding to appeal, the case will now be handed to a panel whose non-negotiable decision will be final. Full confirmation of the fine and conditions imposed is expected by the end of the week or early next week. The risk of not agreeing with this decision is that the club could face even stiffer penalties from the CFCB's (UEFA's club financial control board) adjudicatory panel. The reduction in the size of their Champions League squad however, from 25 to 21, will hit the club hardest, with City having to ensure that there are still eight locally-trained players in their squad. God I hope they get hit harder. Micah Richards is staying

It's all madness. Europe allowed the Bosman ruling without understanding the consequences. Ever since EUFA has been trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Which would be fine if they weren't all corrupt bastards soaking the Clubs for as much money as possible. I am not a Bertie's fan but its total madness to be judged by an organisation that does nothing but endorse nepotism, backhanders and dirty deals. The European court should shut down UEFA rulings in the EEC counties as not being competitive and monopolistic.

At the end of the day... Shiteh and PS.Gimmemoneh will just be fined £100m made payable to Platini. Slap on hand, and "nothing to see here".
Will be interesting to know what will follow.

Actually, this isn't as silly as I thought it would be. The fine is nonsense obviously but the limit of the squad and the cap on the squad's wage replacement will hit them hard. They don't have home-grown players to fill it out so this will limit their transfers.
