I'm not going to lie to you, I don't know how FFP is actually allowed in the first place. It's like saying to a company that your not allowed to invest money to make it better. "Sorry Sony, you're not allowed to invest in RND to make a new console as its not fair" It works in American sports, its designed to stop clubs going bankrupt and teams hovering up the cream of world talent. I think that UEFA are just not big enough or powerful enough to enforce FFP. If they said to PSG or City, you can't play in the CL until you meet the requirements they would be going to the courts and throwing EU law about and then the whole concept of FFP would be in doubt. The concept of FFP alone was never enough in my opinion, some sort of restrictions or cap on transfer spending would be alot more effective. The top clubs make serious money from TV and can easily meet FFP and spend significant money on the worlds best players. If I was running the game i would implement FFP as it is but restrict what clubs can spend over 2 or 3 transfer windows. This would stop clubs like bayern for example hovering all of Dortmunds best players up and making the league pretty much there own every season. It would also encourage the clubs to develop there own players instead of going and buying a team. In Europe it's against employment laws to limit a person's earnings, so they can't enforce that. And I think it was also introduced in American sport teams had started to lose attendences due to the limited competition as the big boys were just snapping up the best players and the same names won all the time. However, the Champion's League is a private competition so that is how Platini is trying to enforce it. Private competition, private rules. If they don't comply then ultimately they can be refused entry.

Is it a case of just giving them what they want. Players like Ronaldo, messi and even rooney make millions in sponsorship revenue for there clubs so I can understand there salaries to some extent but everyone with a reputation whos playing for these top clubs is earning over 100k a week. Thats an unhealthy norm. You cannot blame agents and players pushing for every cent because they have at best 10 or 12 years to earn enough money for the rest of there life.

www.uefa.org/MultimediaFiles/Download/OfficialDocument/uefaorg/ClubFinancialControl/02/10/69/00/2106900_DOWNLOAD.pdfTLDR- 21 man CL squad from 25, £60mill of which £40mill will be returned if they follow the rules outlined for a couple of season. From what i understand it will be withheld revenue from UEFA competitions. They've agreed to have greatly reduced spending for the next 2 seasons, though doesn't state how much. I've been optimistic about FFP, one of the minority. Seems pretty hard hitting to me. If anything that 21 man squad will hurt them, especially if they still need the full homegrown quota.

I agree. While not the smack down they deserve, it isn't as pathetic as we feared.

They don't want more EUFA workers to have any "accidents".

www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1824845/players-want-have?cc=3888Al-Khelaifi to keep spending Paris St Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi has claimed UEFA's financial fair play ruling against his club will have no impact on the way they operate in the future. PSG were, alongside Manchester City, handed a 60 million euro fine (of which 40 million euros is suspended), limitations on next season's Champions League squad, and a transfer spending cap after being found to be in breach of FFP regulations. However, after several summers of huge spending at the Parc des Princes, Al-Khelaifi claims the penalties will do nothing to stop him signing the players he wants for the club. " The players that I want, I will have,'' he said in comments reported by L'Equipe. "This changes nothing of the project, the motivation of the club and the players. We respect and accept this decision. But nothing and no one will stop us, we always dream bigger. "We had a plan over five years when we bought the club and that will not change. We have already invested a lot in the last three years and we will continue.'' PSG fell foul of the FFP regulations due to the out-sized nature of their 200 million euro sponsorship deal with the Qatar Tourism Authority, seen as a linked organisation as they are owned by a Qatari sovereign wealth fund. However, Al-Khelaifi defended the deal. "Paris deserves a big club which deserves big sponsors,'' he said. "It is not very difficult, an I expect to see our revenues grow.'' Asked about their future recruitment plans, he added: "To be clear, the players that I want, I will have. We have options and perhaps there will be signings this summer.'' ------- Clearly quivering in their boots.

PSG president being as classy as always. "No one will stop us, I repeat. We buy who we want. How? That's our business."
Lovely stuff. Football, as we know it, has been mortally wounded.
