One youngster’s wish of playing for Seattle Sounders became a reality as he suited up to take on Tottenham in a pre-season friendly. Xander Bailey, 18, who is fighting cystic fibrosis, saw his dream to become a professional soccer player come true courtesy of the Make-a-wish foundation in truly touching style. Bailey signed a contract with the MLS outfit and trained with the first-team before kicking off alongside Clint Dempsey against Spurs in Saturday’s friendly in the United States. Spurs sportingly allowed the youngster a clean run on goal, before he curled a shot into the arms of Brad Friedel. He was then subbed off to rapturous applause from the crowd, high-fiving the entire Sounders squad on his way to the home dugout. Sensational stuff. metro.co.uk/2014/07/21/make-a-wish-kid-xander-bailey-given-professional-debut-for-seattle-sounders-against-spurs-4805067/

Yeah that's a really nice thing to do for someone.
I do contest one thing though. I don't think Spurs allowed him a run on goal. I think that's them actually trying to defend.

Lovely gesture. The part about him being an arsenal fan made me laugh though.
You'd have thought they have let the lad score at least.

Being an Arsenal fan he might think there needs to be 28 intricate passes around the box before a goal can be scored. Great story though. Well done to Seattle for helping make it happen
