Hi all football fans being a Liverpool fan on a United page is odd but this concern is about keep the rivalry there, sure what good is football without the passion. Football is the fans. So please join other fans in voicing your concern on the 14th of august and if possible please forward this to others. Many thanks Join the Football Supporters’ Federation and fans of dozens of clubs as we march on the Premier League and Football League headquarters demanding ‘Affordable Football for All’ on Thursday 14th August. The game is swimming in money like never before, with clubs pocketing record amounts from broadcasting deals while squeezing everything they can out of their fanbase with some of the highest ticket prices in a generation, and something has to give. The Premier League’s current media deal is worth £5.5bn, an increase of £2.1bn on the previous three years, and yet there is little sign of anything being done to make life easier for the lifeblood of the game – the match-going supporter. The increase in Premier League media rights alone could have led to all 20 clubs letting in each and every supporter for all 38 games for free last season without being any worse off than they had been the season before. Strength comes in numbers, so join our demonstration and march along with your fellow fans on 14th August. We will be gathering at Marble Arch (nearest tube station, unsurprisingly, Marble Arch on the Central Line) from 1pm before heading off to the Premier League and Football League offices at 30 Gloucester Place (W1U 8PL) at around 2:30pm. A delegation of fans will meet with the authorities, while leaders from a number of supporter groups will address the crowd back at Marble Arch at around 3.30pm. For more details, see fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/fans-to-march-for-affordable-football-for-all-on-14th-august

Bit harsh lads...unless I am missing something, this is a genuine request...he didn't have to admit he was a scouse supporter...
I am as rabid a United fan as anyone on here but I thought we had more class than that...

Yeah, I saw this last night but left it because I fully support what the FSF is trying to do. Not just with Ticket pricing but safe standing and many other great initiatives.
And if anyone can make this event, you should definitely consider it. I'd love to be able to go. Imagine the impact of thousands of people, some of them wearing United shirts with lads wearing Liverpool shirts right beside them. Think about the impact that picture could have, especially with all the modern internet media.
Stand down boys.

The way some people get on, you'd think scousers massacred your pets or something. Anyway what he says is true and smithy2's attitude is exactly the attitude that has allowed this to happen. This country harbours the greatest collection of moaning fuckers i've ever meet but when theres something worth moaning and debating about, theres always a lack of conviction in your actions and the usual old, "oh thats the modern game" crap. The premier league is sucking Billions in and nothing is passed onto its supporters. Your all still paying through the nose, personally I think your all mugs. Football supporters love there clubs so much, that a kick in the balls is shaken off pretty quickly. I heard an argument once that if fans boycotted the games then the glaziers would fill the stadium with foreigners, if you believe they could put 80,000 tourists in the ground 1 or 2 times a week then your greatly mistaken.

Maybe slightly premature and unfair on my part on this occasion so I'll retract my last statement as I do agree with what is said, just think were all pissing into an oncoming wind with it. Don't get me wrong I fully agree and support it, every fan should do as its effecting them. This sort of shit is the reason I can't get up to OT nearly half as much as I'd like to. Unfortunately I don't see this changing. They may not be able to fill OT with 80,000 foreigners but they will get enough so that they can keep lining their pockets. Other clubs however won't have the global clout we do so will be effected more. The thing is you'll always get people going to these games no matter what. So while they admire peoples stand against it, it won't bother then at all. Shame as its something that would rejuvenate the support. No offence to those that do go but I think its partly the reason why the atmosphere at OT is so shit.

Ticket revenue is between 30% and 40% of the clubs revenue, a significant drop in that would have a range of consequences. Also do you think Sky will want to show united games to half empty stadiums?. Its not the image they want the best league in the world to have. Everything has a knock effect, lack of tv coverage means a lack of sponsorship attention meaning less money for the leeches.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just don't think it will have the impact wed like. If it does then all well and good.
The majority of clubs don't really give a shit about the fans as a whole as if one person boycotts a game there is always another that will be willing to take their place.
Don't think that will ever change. The game has been ruined by money for years, were partly to blame as we pay the ridiculous shirt prices, or the ticket prices whether they be normal or ST.
Don't get me wrong I'm not building an argument for the corrupt bastards nor am I in any way defending them. A show of unity like Bestie said could certainly show an act of defiance towards them but while the clubs still line their pockets with profit after profit I can't see them being bothered about it. Sad I know but that's what the modern game has turned into.

We had a 65% turnout for the general election vote, it's in the mentality of the English population. Why bother? nothing will change. I hope it works, but as Paul said, I don't think it will

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying don't try as you don't get if you don't ask. The only real way it would work is if enough fans would boycott a game to prove a point. Unfortunately I don't think k you'd would get enough people interested as there is always someone to take your place.

Unfortunately I don't think k you'd would get enough people interested as there is always someone to take your place. Unfortunately this is the only thing that will make a statement. A league wide boycott for one weekend would hit the people in charge in the only place they feel anything. Their pocket book. So long as supporters show up to the match and buy merchandise/concessions etc., no amount of marches or protests will get their serious attention. We love our clubs. We love to support our clubs, and feel proudly ethical about doing so. This is what the money men are counting on. They view us as a captive audience and will continue to gouge us to the extent we're willing to pay...which for most is as much as it takes. An en masse boycott even from ST holders for one weekend would send a message that things need to change, and supporters aren't willing to keep footing the bill. Half empty stadiums shown around the world won't reflect well on Sky/ITV et al or the bean counters who rely on parking/concessions/programme sale revenues etc. Once they realize they don't have complete control over the match going buck they'll reconsider. Not before.

I'd love to see a mass 'stand out' for a game. Every supporter just standing outside the ground refusing to go in. Make sure the honest, hard-working lads on the stalls (not official stuff) don't get caught in some sort of financial crossfire.
As Whiteknight alludes to, a 'zero day' spend some matchdays are the only likely thing to make the bean counters sit up and take notice.

I'd certainly back it if it happened, but can you honestly ever see this happening. If this was to happen it would have to be done a different way.
