Very poor performance against Leicester. Probably our worst player in that game. But it's only one game. Let's see how he plays in central. Most likely will get his starting eleven spot against West Ham.
He needs to improve his English as well, otherwise will be hard to communicate and take a command in the back 4.

Some great matches, and a rather poor performance. I think Rojo will adapt and be great for us. Why does everyone panic on one poor display, we would turn our squad over weekly if that was the barometer to play...

Some folks forget that it is the losses that make the wins that much sweeter.

I won't judge him until he's played centre back and even then it looks as though he'll have a reserve for a partner.

Looks like he might have what it takes to be something of an enforcer. Got a mean look to him.

He's been decent so far but it'll take time for him to adjust to the style of football, learn the language, gel with his team mates, gel with van Gaal's style and so forth. It look Vidic and Evra the best part of a season to do the same.
In the meantime I would like to see a little more grit and aggression from him, we could have really done with that against Leicester, but then perhaps we're unfairly comparing him to Gabriel Heinze because of the shared nationality and favoured positions, and he was one hell of a tough little bastard.
I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in a central role, although I'm hoping he doesn't bomb forward as much as he did on the left, often leaving Blackett completely exposed and on his own. He's not a big guy but neither was Fabio Cannavaro. I'm not comparing the two but I think it just illustrates that you can still be a dominating central defender even if you're not the biggest of guys. You just have to be intelligent and tough as fuck.

I would like to see him do more defending tbh, especially at CB.
He has been up-field way too much for my liking and, quite frankly, it's easier to hide out wide when you're playing left back. We'll have a much better idea of his defensive capabilities this weekend.
Sorry Rors I just noticed you made the same point, haha

I like Rojo and believe he will come good for the club, maybe he isn't used to the demands made at the EPL level, where running full steam forward and making the cross, then begets getting back on your horse and making a great stop all in the same sequence. He will learn, and many coming into the prem have taken a year or more to get it figured out, I don't think with LvG that it will let it take that long...

www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29474696Sporting Lisbon were under pressure from outside influences to sell Marcos Rojo to Manchester United, says Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho. De Carvalho says third-party owners attended meetings, leading Sporting to think they were United officials. "We did not want Rojo to leave. He was an important player for us," he told the BBC World Football Show. This is a side of the game I hate and it really pains me that our club has to deal with this vermin in order to sign a player especially after the Tevez fiasco.
