Blind can get stuck in, no doubts, but he also has a touch on him, and can see a pass. I'm pleased we've finally pulled our finger out and got him, at relatively decent price.

May I add bar hererra he is better than what we have in the enter. At the price reported Ajax said in an official statement its 17.5 million euros. This is a bargain.
He is what we need and fully fit. Good deal all round, adds quality versatility and knows the manager and what is required.

I'm aware that you're comparing style more than ability though. Love that kind of player. |

Welcome Daley! A good and versatile addition to the squad, he should have been signed right after the WC, regardless if we were/are after other midfield targets. Hope he flourishes on the big stage.
Now if we only signed Carvalho/Strootman and we are laughing....

He is Ajax Captain, but people are over-stating the job done on the fee. the Eredivisie ain't what she used to be, particularly finance-wise. Vertonghen was Ajax captain and went for £ 10 million to Spurs, for example. (Why aren't we in for him by the way, is it just the Levy facter? I like Vertonghen.) Either a) Woodward hasn't been able to complete deals for our first choice targets; or b) Blind was a prime target and it has taken until two/three days before the end of the window to close the deal, and not even at a price that should take a serious amount of negotiating. |

Said last month this would be a great signing for us. He reminds me of Hargreaves a little bit (minus the dodgy knees) with his tacking and passing range. Alright he's not a hardman looking to end careers like Keane but he's got that terrier like tenacity when trying to win the ball back and has a calmness when on the ball that is missing from our midfield when Carrick isn't playing.

The fee is significantly lower than the fees being mentioned in the press, around 20mil etc, and Overmars stating he'll only going for a huge fee.
