Great utility player to have, will help out in defence and midfield. Still short of that top class midfielder though but definitely a worthwhile signing. Clearly with this signing and Rojo, LVG is going for this more versatile type of player.

I thought we'd sign him if if we couldn't sign a first choice player, and we'll get strootman later on. Not sure he's an injection of real quality, but he's a def mid who already knows LvG style. Hopefully that's enough for a noticeable difference.LvG did say he wanted specialists for a 433.
Versatile too which will be great as we continue to trim the squad. I wonder if this is us done on incomings though.
