Once again reading bits of Jim White's Manchester United: the Biography, (2008).
I am re-examining aspects of the past including: Fergie's anonymous role in the Glazer buyout, the Glazer's original adoption of the term 'franchise', and asking questions as to why there was no managerial transition strategy in place? And, why there was never any investigation of the Glazer's ticket pricing policy after they promised the government there would be no price increases? There are far too many silences and cul de sacs still circling these issues.

Finished John Saul's Cry for the Strangers last night (and watched the film version today) Now started on NOS4A2 by Joe Hill (Stephen King's boy if you didn't know) - got a nice flow to it - learned a lot from his old man IMO Jeebus - what a great book If you like his old man's work you'll like this too

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be diverting to Amazon shortly then! I was talking about The Stand at work the other day. Fantastic book which I must have read four or five times now!

It is a meaty book though! Next time I'll read it on my Kindle. Over twelve hundred pages if I remember correctly.

The bit through the tunnel at the start...
I'm reading Zomblog by TW Brown, free on Amazon. Six books in total, shades of The Stand in these.

Its a good read and they made a film about it but it is nothing like the book. A bit like reading a Stephen King novel. A gruesome thriller.

Theories are that it ties into the dark tower trilogy which i haven't read.

I have only read a few King novels but I don't think The Mist was one of them. But you should read The Fog. As I said, they made a film about it which was not too bad but the book is better. Saying that, most books are never like the films when they are produced.

There were 7 Dark tower books (6 originally but King did a later one that fit inbetween two of them as a standalone - Basically Roland telling a story within a story within a story ) ) - I read all 7 back to back and it took 9 months last year The Mist is excellent - pretty much everything he writes has a connection to the Dark Tower James Herbert (RIP) is my favourite Brit writer - should have made more of his into films - The Fog is my favourite and the first one of his I read when I was a teen 100 years ago Joe Hill also did Horns which was a recent film with the Hairy Pooper kid - enjoyed it and didn't even know it was a Joe Hill book until afterwards - hopefully they make a few more films of his stuff - NOS4A2 would be great as a film - great blend of horror and fantasy and got some great characters What I do when I read a book is to use real actors when it comes to visualising what is happening - already got the film cast if the producers want to contact me
