'Aye boss I've still got it. It's in me pocket.' Seems obvious to me that Rooney works on free kicks a helluva lot more than open play trapping/turning/passing. He is improving in one of those areas and not the other. As a playmaking CAM, which is more important? the very basics of the game. and the parts that he really struggles with. |

Am I right in thinking the 'keeper got hands to the free-kick and basically pushed it in? I had the match on while I was practicing my guitar but wasn't paying any sort of attention to it. Thought I heard Clive say something about it possibly being an own-goal?

I missed the goal, but my mate said it was a quality free kick, though he is a Rooney defender, so I don't know for sure

It's a good free kick in that Rooney gets it up and down over the wall so quickly, but the goalkeeper got two hands to it. 'Keeper was weak, he only pushed it onto the post, and then the ball actually rebounds back and goes in off him. I'm genuinely not sure that shouldn't go down as an own goal. Definitely should be talked about as a goalkeeping error though. If De Gea had done it we would be furious with him. |

Who else consistently plays that crap but still ends up getting a goal. It helps he's on penalty and free kick duty but the game still ended 1-0 |

The pitch looks so shit I had to double check they weren't playing away in Slovenia Almost didn't watch the game because it's all about PHC but I've got a bet on Slovenia to score  |
