also, in the US they refer to each team/club as an individual organisation, whereas we over here refer to teams as a collection of people. ie. manchester united is performing really well over the last few weeks (US) it's are dammit... ARE! |

i've noticed a few times recently when talking about a project i'm delivering in work i've had the compulsion to use the term "final solution" to describe the end state.
i think it's time we took it back

"GASH".
How strong a word is "gash", when you use it in a sentence like "He has been gash all season"? Can you say it in mixed company? I see it on these pages often and I appreciate the words that are common for you guys and not for us, and so occasionally I want to use the same terms. So, question: are you saying the player was gash like a deep cut, or gash as in a fairly offensive term for vagina?
I worked every day for 3 months in a British film crew (mostly English, a couple Scots, and one Welsh person) and heard the word "cunt" used like verbal duct tape: all purpose and in plentiful supply. It took me awhile to realize that "cunt" is a completely different word when said in front of, or indeed about, a woman. Is "gash" similar?
