wow. didnt even get an inkling that they were dealing with such a life changing issue. RIP Mrs Ferdinand. Rio stay strong, for you and the kids. just so sad. Yes - it came as a big surprise because pretty much every time Rio farts it's on Twitter Fair play they kept something so personal very quiet - a lot of celebs would have used something like this for publicity Respect for Rio has gone up a notch

Rest in peace, Rebecca. May the Ferdinand family and your other relatives find comfort in such hour. It must have been very traumatic for them, especially because this fucking disease is cruel.

Yes - when my dad died in 74 cancer was pretty rare in comparison to today and was almost hushed up in the family Now EVERY family is affected and something like 50% of us will suffer from some form of it during our lives - fucking evil disease My old man was diagnosed in September and was dead by the end of November - at least it was fairly quick

she was too young to be dying of fucking cancer. She was the same age as me. It makes you realise it can get anybody at any time. It's probably time for me to have somebody prod my prostate with a gloved finger.

As Max said every family seems to be affected by it somehow, just hope one day soon a cure is found.

Hope the QPR lads can keep it together in the game and get a result for Rio, nothing to do with them playing the Scousers, but it must be hard to keep your head right and play a massive game when your pals mrs has just died.

When Kayleigh died a few weeks ago the games after that just didn't feel important or real anymore (especially the Newcastle one a couple of days later) - I'm sure it will be even worse for the QPR players A big part of being a pro is putting your "game head" on - easier said than done though

I don't know how long ago it happened, but it still hurts even if time easy it up a little your old man will always live inside of you ♡ The players could use #5 jerseys to show the respect our club has for Rio, that anyone who enters there isn't a mere player (unless if that's what they want to be) but someone who's a small piece of what United is

Men in my family are lucky to reach 65, in fact I don't think any on my dads side have made it past that age for the last 3 generations. Family history suggests that I'm likely to get cancer at some point, so I need to take the threat seriously, and I need to stay on top of it and try and catch any symptoms early on.

Sorry to hear it mate. Lost friends and family to it so know the seriousness of it. Fingers crossed all stays good for ya. This is where I have an issue with foreign aid. Would much rather money is spent finding a cure for this horrible disease than sending money abroad to foreign countries that don't help themselves.

I remember that day buddy. Took you a while to get over it. You have 2 lovely boys that pulled you through that so I think you will be ok.
