2-0. USA looked pretty good. Colombia kept fucking around with the ball without penetrating - remind you of anyone? I can't believe the amount of diving that went on, good grief. At least Colombia has their Olympic diving squad sorted early. I don't agree that either of the yellow cards were warranted: both were fouls, but not yellows, and now we are without Rapinoe and Holiday. China is a tough team and this will be a good match.

For a team that are ranked 28th I thought they did OK. Didn't really bother Solo once either. Some decent youngsters in the American side. But as they were coming on my mind kind of wandered away from the football itself.
The first Yellow for Holiday was harsh, think the 2nd one was justified as it was her 3rd could in as many minutes, was just unlucky getting to the ball.
One thing that did annoy me and does every single time a tournament is on whether its men's or women's. They spend half the game taking about England. Just fuck off with it. Its also a bit disrespectful to the two teams playing at the time.

Too think their wages are nowhere near the guys wages but they just get out there and do the business with pride & passion. I think a lot of the guys nowadays when playing for England, worry about getting injured on international duty and miss EPL/Championship games. |
