Genuine legend. Iconic actor, member of the SOE (SAS), spy, nazi hunter, heavy metal singer, descendent of Charlemagne.

Peter Jackson was directing him in LOTR and asked him to scream when he was stabbed in the back. Lee told him you don't scream, the air rushes out of the lungs and you just groan. Jackson kept going and Lee very politely asked 'Peter, have you ever seen anyone stabbed in the back?' Jackson said of course not and Lee said 'Well I have old boy and trust me, they don't scream.' Jackson didn't say anything for awhile...

He also witnessed the last public beheading in France. They could make a film of his life and it would seem far fetched. An absolute giant in every sense, he will be very sorely missed.

Yep,loved Christopher Lee,terrified me in those old Hammer Horror films as a kid.
Ron Moody-Fagin in the musical version of Oliver-also died today.
Also loved that film as a kid,Ollie Reid scared the living shit out of me!

And the best of them all.... The Wickerman. Brilliant, bonkers movie with Lee amazing in it. Fantastic that it was re-discovered and became a huge cult movie. Apparently it pained him greatly how the studio had buried it. He was its champion for years. I was delighted to see that coming to fruition.

Shit yeah,forgot about the Whicker Man,such a creepy film,and far,far superior to that awful Nick Cage version,poor old Eddie Woodward-no relation!

Aye. The wife's just told me about Moody (Oliver-Fagin film) when I mentioned SCL. Unbelievable. I can't say they come in three's now, we just might get some more!!!!

Absolute Legend, and I had always kind of hoped I would get to meet him somehow someday. He will always be Scaramanga to me!

always remember him for. No one did the Count like he could.
