Some reports say he rejected the contract offer.........dont lock it, let it die a natural death when it's an official announcement. They still want Spanish Dave. There has been no official announcement by Real, therefore it's just media bullshit, there is till a chance that he may come to united. Real and the media Muppetry in motion

Safe to say I'll be the most disappointed if indeed he does sign a new contract!.
This would've and by all means still could be the summer smash of signings.
Nothing's official yet.

For all the bloody selling and splashing money around you'd think Madrid would have sorted this out if it was just a matter of 2 Mil. Could be something else or nothing really. But i, for one, can't see any way Ramos can come to United without angering the Fans there. Still in the "won't happen camp".

Real tell Ramos to fuck around with 'signing' a new contract, piss off the fans enough so they don't care if he's sold United tell De Gea pretend his head's not in it, piss off the fans so they don't care if he's sold.
Probably.

Indo
Manchester United were on Monday night facing an uphill struggle in their battle to secure Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, with the 29-year-old defender thought to be tempted by a new deal at the Bernabeu in which bonuses would take him to the annual €10m (£7.1m) he has been demanding.
United’s hopes of signing the player are not entirely lost, but Real’s in-house TV station is preparing pieces for the announcement of a new contract, which seems more likely than not to be agreed.
Rancour between Ramos and the Real president, Florentino Perez, led to the player openly agitating for a move in June. United have retained hopes Ramos would provide some badly needed experience in central defence and that the player’s discontent would bring their moves for him to fruition, despite a £28.6m bid being rejected by Real. Ramos staying put would be a blow, as United have also failed to secure Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund.

Not sure why they chucked the Hummels bit in at the end, that rumour died a long time ago

If spanish media reports are to be believed then, this saga should have a conclusion by the end of today.
