So, every so often I like to check the official United site to see number of appearances/goals scored etc. Has anyone seen the picture of Romero in his profile picture? Absolutely menacing thousand yard stare, just an unsettling smile away from echoing Vincent D'Onofrio in Full Metal Jacket. Kind of a scary dude.

He's a decent keeper but I really am not confident everytime the ball is passed back to him

Always like a keeper that has "crazy eyes" Sergio has said that he loves the manager and there is no doubt that he will play his guts out
for LvG and for United. He's doing right well IMO and I think he will get better and better as the season progresses

As good as it would be to have a "Top" keeper in there, at least he wants to play for the manager and the club.
With a decent midfield protecting the defence now, maybe Romero & Blind might not get found out as much as expected.

Someone on a podcast recently said Romero's problems with Sampdoria weren't to do with ability, it was to do with the huge contract they initially gave him which they wanted to re-negotiate after his first (very successful) season. He refused understandably so they pretty much drove him out of the club.
I have to admit, this was news to me but makes a bit more sense. He always looked a good keeper for Argentina.

He was totally within his rights to stand firm (certainly according to the guy I was listening to) and Sampdoria started dicking him about. So the idea he's been a reserve for 2 years is skewed slightly. |

Same happened at Monaco. Massive contract, and the money wasn't flowing as it once was either. He's been unlucky.

Has looked quite good so far, granted that it may not have been testing games, my only real worry or concern atm is when the balls played back to him , he either takes a bit longer to clear which can lead to trouble at times in PL or screws with the clearance from time to time.
I am hoping that this will get sorted as he plays more with the team .

I think we need to see him away at a ground like Selhurst Park with Palace who flash crosses in regularly to really see but the signs are positive.
