I'd love the boy here, I think he's quality. Think he has as good a chance as anyone to win the Ballon D'Or in 2017/18 when Messi and Ronaldo finally slow down. His record is very impressive and he has shown clear progress every season so far in his career. He scored over 20 goals last year in a league similar in talent to the PL, so we would be confident of a steady flow of goals outside of whoever is playing up top. His buyout is fair given the market we are in, and apparently he's a United supporter. He played for Atleti so is unlikely to want to go Real (who he destroyed at the Calderon in La Liga this year) after 3 years (though we said that about DDG...), and the French league hopefully isn't good enough for him to pine for home the way DDG does. He is flexible and can play anywhere across the 3 behind the striker - if we played him with Depay and Mata then all 3 could reasonably play in all 3 positions and switch constantly ála Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez in 2008 (though a core 3 of Mata RW Greizmann CAM Depay LW would be insane enough as is). He seems like a nice fella. At Atleti under Simeone he has shown he can clearly be disciplined and still be highly creative and a huge goal threat all simultaneously. He has the pace we are lacking but isn't overly weak (though he's no Depay in the tank department admittedly).
What isn't to like?

Reckon you wear greizman pyjamas and sleep in his official merchandise duvet set We should have bought him like stew said while he was ripping it up at sociedad, now he has a hefty premium

Has this summer been perfect, well no, but I only know what the papers are leading us to believe. We have gotten enough quality and youth to fill most of the cup boards, the only knock you could say is we haven't got that top 5/10 player in the world. Our problem I think is that we are tied into every player under the sun, when it doesn't happen we mope like we lost our best friend. I will not panic, nor will I have sleepless nights with this present squad....in Woody I trust.

To a point I agree with some of what you said, but Southampton etc are a selling club so it easier to deal with those type of teams.
When was the last time he wrapped up a truly stellar name in their prime(apart from adm, who was gift wrapped and kicked out the door by madrid) ?
he shouldn't put out there that we can buy anyone, because we're loaded when he obviously cant, because when for whatever reason it doesn't happen it makes him look a mug.

And really on the quality players list, Moyes wasn't someone who is a magnet for international talent. I think we need to let that statement go, and move on...

Aye ^ +1 In fact I would venture to predict that a couple years from now the business done this year is going to look like United got some serious talent on the cheap. Darmian, Blind, Shaw, Herrera, Sch twins, Memphis are all gonna look like coups for United. For all the moaning about this transfer window it deserves to go down as a major success.

I really dislike this sense of loss of appreciation once we sign someone. Not a dig at you, but in general. Once we get hold of someone, we move on to our next target and tend to convince ourselves that the earlier one was an easy acquisition. Yeah, we know more than the club. I understand the dissatisfaction from missing out on targets, but please don't undermine the efforts taken to capture one. Morgan was almost set for Arsenal (as per reports), and many of us had lost hopes too, but once he was acquired, all was forgotten. Similar with many other targets and I am not even talking about our acquisitions, where we must have fought competition without the media getting a whiff of the same. You come to know about it down the line when someone like Arsene (though he has this habit) comes out and says that x,y,z were almost captured by Arsenal. Apart from maaaybe 3-4 out here, no one knows any inside story.

I thought the bro's tweets were more trolling, course its been deleted since. Would be great buy what won't happen cos we will go in with a bid of 40 and try to negotiate as no one else has made a bid and wait till few other clubs start to sniff and then retract as we weren't really ever interested in him and it was all Media/Fans fascination. Let me say this in the world of LVG/Ed- WORDS ARE MINE , MEANING's ALL YOURS

Cant remember Gill making those sort of statements, plus once its out there you cant put the genie back in the bottle. So imo opinion he has made a rod for his own back. I havent got a problem with who we got this transfer window, far from it. And if you read my posts i didnt care about otamendi or pedro not coming in fact id rather promote some of our younger players. BUT if they want to get the best of the best my question about him delivering a truly stellar player in his prime is still a valid one, and as yet remains unanswered. Totally theoretical but Griezman would improve us yes ? And has a known buyout clause.
Lvg stated after the pedro thing "that it was an easy transfer" due to there being a buyout clause if they had wanted him, so in theory whats the hold up ?

The only positive any muppet can right now hope is that for what ever reason ED/LVG may be compelled to prove that the club have still got the pulling power and so do a dick swinging action and actually go and bring someone sought after in.
Bit of pulling straws ATM tho
