Welcome to 2016 everyone (Y)
What did everyone do for NYE? Any plans/goals for the new year?
I didn't do much for NYE. Gave my parents lifts to/from their dinner for £40. Always thought NYE was just an overpriced night out.

Me and the wife have been staying in Dublin, which has been tremendous with my new found family. Had a fucking gas. Loads of Guinness and some great food and laughs. Happy new year friends.

Just finished a 12 hour nightshift... Yay go me. Got 4 days off now so my new years starts when i decide to wake up Always prefer New Years day to eve as all the monumental bellends tend to go out on nye. As for goals well this year im making certain ones and I intend on sticking to them. After 2moro im off the beer for 4 months and back in the gym next week. Those 2 I intend to stick to (as hard as they'll be), got a target I plan to aim for so thats step one to getting it. But other than that its the usual. Hopefully be a better year than last. Plenty of ups but too many downs so hoping theres a lot more ups this time around. Happy new year guys

2016 doesn't have to do a whole hell of a lot to be a much better year than 2015, so I am cautiously optimistic!
Happy New Year, you mugs!

Sorry to spoil things....but....
Louis van Gaal believes 2015 should largely be regarded as “a very good year” for Manchester United despite their current woes.
United are out of the Champions League and in the middle of their worst run for 26 seasons, but the United manager thinks it would be wrong to judge the year based on their displays in December.
After a dour 0-0 draw against PSV and a stalemate against Leicester, United began the month with a goalless encounter against West Ham.
Defeats against Bournemouth, Norwich, Stoke and Wolfsburg followed – as well as another goalless draw against Chelsea – and all of a sudden United were nine points behind leaders Arsenal in sixth position.
United may be ending the year on a low point, but after guiding the club to fourth last season and adding more “balance” to the squad in the summer, Van Gaal believes the team has moved forward over the last 12 months.
“When you don’t assess December it was a very good year, 2015,” said the United manager, who has spent more than £250million since taking over 18 months ago.
“But you cannot do that because a year has 12 months.
“I think we have fulfilled the wish and our aim in the first season and after that we have managed to give balance to the team and that resulted in November we were first.
“Then we are out of the Champions League and that gives us a big blow.”
Those comments may not go down well with the United fans who voiced their concerns about Van Gaal and his style of play long before December.
Some United supporters have booed their team off and implored them to attack during matches after becoming annoyed at the ponderous, possession-based style often on display at Old Trafford.
Despite United’s poor form, Van Gaal still has his eyes on the title.
“We need to win because at the end of the season I want to be top, not middle,” Van Gaal said.
Although United failed to beat Chelsea on Monday, the team’s performance in the goalless stalemate was encouraging enough to prevent a fan revolt and save the manager.
Van Gaal admits the pressure is still on him, however, as he cannot afford for the likes of Arsenal, Leicester, Manchester City and Tottenham to break away.
Van Gaal added: “We have to get points otherwise the gap is too big and that is why we have to do what we have to do.
“We have to work, prepare the game, perform and then evaluate the game again. That is of course much more difficult when you don’t win than when you win.”
The pressure on Van Gaal will increase if United fail to beat Swansea at Old Trafford on Saturday.
“You have to show it for 90 minutes against the resistance of the opponent and also under the pressure of the environment and the pressure you put yourself under,” said Van Gaal, who has lost all three games against Swansea since becoming United manager.
“And you have to cope with that.
“I was three times lost against Swansea, and then you have to evaluate why you lost. It is always like that, then you continue with the same vicious circle of working.
“There is no magic, it is looking at what has happened and what can improve, as a team but also as an individual player.”
Jesse Lingard remains a doubt for the game on Saturday.

A quiet night for me and the wife really at our age. I had a couple of whiskies as per norm and some red wine, the wife had her white. At mid-night had the family call (phone) wishing us all a Happy New Year. We listened and looked out of our window and seen and heard the fireworks going off at Edinburgh Castle which they do every year as we live about 1/2 a mile from the castle. Went to bed around 1ish as we have our son & daughter coming around sometime this afternoon with the grandsons. I don't want them too see their granddad half pissed and staggering all over the place.HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO ALL FROM BONNIE SCOTLAND, EDINBURGH.

That's our daughter away with our two grandson's, nice wee visit. I always know when wee Kaiden is up to some mischief or what not. His big brother Connor was in the back room playing games on the wife's laptop and his X Box, I was nattering away with the wife and daughter in the lounge and then wondered where the wee tank (as we call Kaiden) was as it had all gone quiet. Found him in the bedroom, my bedside radio/alarm on and he was hiding in a corner with a box of the wife's perfume set (xmas present) she had put on our dresser top ready to rip it open and put her perfume on, or try and drink it lol. Next call should be our son with wee Alexander and his dog. AJ as we call Alexander, will be like his big cousin Connor and go into the back room and play games on the laptop and with his X Box. But the main thing is the three grandsons enjoyed their Christmas. Fuck how times have changed. Christmas prezzies for me when I was a wee toddler was a Beano or Dandy book, cowboy hat, gun and holster, a leather football, a few tin soldiers or whatever with fruit lying around. No i-Pads, X box things, Tablets, computers, laptops, mobiles etc in my days. Fuck, we got our first b/w box tv around 1956/7, we thought it was magic. Those were the days when I was a young lad, but we enjoyed our prezzies just like our grandsons nowadays.

First experiences of 2016 have been a pity hug just after midnight in the bar and burying my grandmother. Great start!
Oddly though, I'm rather cheerful and optimistic about the whole thing. Happy New Year all! May this year be ever more awesome than the last.

Getting ready for family to come by tomorrow, and smoking a couple of chickens for the occasion . New Years eave is relatively a quite time for us, with the real happenings starting on the weekend.
Looking for big changes in 2016, with the primary's coming up soon here in South Carolina, and the Presidential elections later in the year. Can't wait to change the course of the political landscape, and make America Great Again!
